Kitten Rescue is a non-profit organization devoted to finding loving new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens. We are equally dedicated to giving the public vital information about responsible pet ownership, care of kittens and cats, managing feral cats, and most importantly, the importance of spaying and neutering. The majority of our cats are cared for in foster homes until they are placed with adopters, who are screened carefully to ensure the stability and quality of an animal's new environment. Before going home, each cat or kitten is fixed, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas and microchipped. We also provide full medical care for the cats in our care until they are adopted. Since May 2005, Kitten Rescue has operated the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary, a private, no-kill shelter in Atwater Village. Kitten Rescue purchased the facility in March 2006.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless believes in the healing power of companion pets and of the human/animal bond which is very important in the lives of many homeless. They find solace, protection and companionship through their pets. They care for their pets on limited resources so they themselves have less. Our task, nationwide, is to feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to their pets and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who cannot provide for their pets. Rescue City is a no-kill, non-profit pet rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption organization. We believe it is our moral responsibility to defend the lives of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals. We take on helpless stray and surrendered animals, as well as those at the top of the euthanasia list at local and national shelters. We place our rescues in nurturing foster homes while they rebuild their lives through physical and mental rehabilitation. Following a hassle free adoption process, our Rescues are placed in loving & committed permanent homes. Our commitment to our rescues does not stop once the adoption paperwork is signed. We stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, and we educate our Fosters, Adopters, and community on what it means to be a good pet owner.

Last Chance Animal Rescue operates in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. We take in cats and dogs from more than 50 high-kill shelters in 12 states and provide disaster-relief services for pets. We partner with more than 30 PetSmart and Petco stores in the region and provide full service in-store cat adoptions. We promote and provide low cost, high quality spay/neuter of companion animals and provide educational material to retain these animals in the home.

The goal of Paws of Honor (POH) is to provide veterinary care and products at no charge* for retired military and law enforcement dogs that have served our country, locally or globally. Service dogs deserve accessible, high quality veterinary care in return for their commitment and sacrifice for our country and the monetary burden associated with veterinary care should not fall on the shoulders of the officer/handler/owner once the dog has been decommissioned.

Angels of Assisi seeks to change the traditional definition of an animal shelter by offering services and programs to benefit the community, the people that live there, and the pets they love. The organization operates the largest private animal shelter in the Roanoke Valley, as well as a low cost Community Pet Clinic and farm animal sanctuary. Through the Community Pet Clinic and Adoption Center, Angels of Assisi is able to provide resources to pet owners to keep their pets happy and healthy. The adoption center puts emphasis on these services to help people be able to keep their pets over turning them in to the shelter. Angels of Assisi strives to be a resource to the community and also offers services to area and rural shelters to help end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets.

At Forgotten Cats, our mission is to reduce the unwanted cat population without killing and to stop the suffering of the thousands of kittens born to abandoned, homeless cats. We do this by working with colony caretakers to trap, sterilize, vaccinate, and return every cat within a colony. We provide the necessary medical treatment for sick or injured feral cats, stray cats, and kittens. We are working to find homes for adoptable cats and kittens. We also provide education about spay neuter, and we are assisting other cat rescue groups with trap, neuter, and return programs.

SOS Galgos has rescued, rehabilitated and given a new home to some 3,000 greyhounds.

THE SAVING HOPE FOUNDATION’S MISSION IS TO END ANIMAL ABUSE AND NEGLECT BY ADDRESSING DOG AND CAT OVERPOPULATION IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH AN AGGRESSIVE SPAY NEUTER CAMPAIGN, WITH SUPPORTING EDUCATION, TRANSPORT AND ADOPTION PROGRAMS.

The Valley Animal Center is dedicated to controlling the pet population through education and spaying/neutering, not euthanasia. We believe animals, as living creatures, deserve to be protected, respected, and given every consideration morally and ethically. Our mission is to assist with and provide for the health and welfare of the animals that have been abused, mistreated, abandoned, and injured; to promote the bond between animals and people; and to instill an appreciation and respect for all living creatures with whom we share this earth.

California Animal Shelter Friends, Inc. is dedicated to providing veterinary care and foster care to animals who will otherwise be put to sleep in animal shelters. This includes puppies and kittens who are too young for adoption at the time they are abandoned at the shelter as well as those who are sick or injured and require medical care. We give them the medical care and time they need to become adoptable and then find them permanent homes.
