NEWORLD THEATRE SOCIETY

Neworld Theatre is an award-winning, Vancouver-based theatre company that creates, produces and tours new plays and performance events. We tell stories that reflect Canada's diversity in the broadest sense – cultural, linguistic, social and economic. We use popular forms to examine our lives in the context of who counts, who doesn't, and what our relationship is to the people we may think we aren't. Since 1999, Neworld has won more than 19 Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards (from over 70 nominations), the Alcan Performing Arts Award, the Vancouver Sun Innovation Award, the Seattle Times Footlight Award, the Canada Council Theatre for Young Audiences Award. Neworld's productions have been seen in major festivals across North American and in Europe. These include Winners and Losers, How Has My Love Affected You, The Idiot, the PodPlays series, Peter Panties, Ali and Ali and the aXes of Evil, Mixie and the Halfbreeds, Adrift, Crime and Punishment and Asylum of the Universe.

SCIENTISTS IN SCHOOL

Founded in 1989, Scientists in School is a leading science education charity that delivers in-class, hands-on science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and environmental workshops to Kindergarten to Grade 8 children. Our workshops enrich STEM curriculum through real-world, investigative activities, specialized materials and equipment, and highly-trained local presenters who are scientific role models. Donations to Scientists in School help us to do things such as subsidize workshop costs for schools, offer complimentary workshops to school and community groups servicing low-income neighborhoods, fill presenter kits for our workshops with specialized materials and equipment, train presenters, develop new workshops, revise existing workshops and expand our program into new regions and communities.

MALEKKHANU AND SHERALI FAZAL VISRAM MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

To seek out, explore and execute, to the best of our ability, the fullest potential in each and every child. To achieve this objective, we provide for the day-to day needs, education and extra-curricular activities in order to fulfil or exceed the expectations of life. Our children will be representatives of the societies from which they come and, hopefully, one day will impart their knowledge upon those societies. It is our intent to educate children between the ages of 6 and 18 years and to provide them with the fundamentals required to pursue a professional career.

THE VICTORIA GILBERT AND SULLIVAN SOCIETY

For 30 years the society has successfully staged professional-quality performances of Gilbert and Sullivan's Victorian era comic operas. Each spring, we stage a full scale auditioned production, complete with professional orchestra. Smaller scale productions are mounted each fall and can take the performers "on the road" to nearby communities. Our concert group has also performed in retirement homes, malls, garden parties, churches and even a castle! For further information see our website: www.gilbertandsullivanvictoria.ca
