MusicBox recognizes the importance of a musical education in a child's development. Music has the capacity to transcend language, social and cultural borders and positively influence other areas of a child's development. MusicBox's music appreciation and individual-lesson programs run in low-income neighbourhoods in Canada, and in other institutions where children are disadvantaged, disabled, ill and therefore unable to partake in a music education. Any interested children of families in these sectors are qualified candidates for the MusicBox Children’s Charity. MusicBox also strives to provide a mentorship program between our volunteer teachers and our child partipants. We provide volunteer opportunities for high school and university students making this a youth-helping-youth initiative, and giving our youth confidence and responsibility. Our programs are administered by a national Board of Directors and regional Chapters run entirely by volunteers.

Halton Learning Foundation's objective is to raise charitable funds to remove economic barriers to learning for students in need and support school initiatives. As each has its own community, students and families, fundraising revenues generated within a school varies from school to school. In a number of communities, school council/parents are unable to raise any significant amount of money to help with additional purchases above and beyond core education funding. Funds raised by the Halton Learning Foundation are available to help schools that need additional assistance. Funds raised by the Foundation are directed to eliminating barriers to learning for students and classroom enrichment; not to administration or capital projects. The Halton Learning Foundation is incorporated as a registered charity and as an independent body collaborating with the Halton District School Board. The Halton District School Board has over 50,000 students and 95 schools in Halton Region.

The Children's Book Bank provides free books and literacy support to low- income children in the greater Toronto area from its storefront location in Regent Park. The Children’s Book Bank is like a magical children’s bookstore, except that books are given free of charge to children and their families. We believe that book ownership is essential to early literacy and a life-long love of reading. Unfortunately, studies show that many low-income families cannot afford to purchase books. At the same time, many families and organizations have quality children’s books that they no longer need. Our organization connects demand and supply to ensure that all children can experience the joy, dignity and enrichment associated with book ownership. The Leading Note Foundation OrKidstra program was created in 2007 to give children from under-served communities the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and sing in a choir. Now in its sixth year, the OrKidstra program has over 200 children from more than 30 different linguistic backgrounds. This success has been enabled by the phenomenal support of Ottawa's community. The many financial, instrument, and in-kind donations – as well as several amazing fund-raising concerts – have given us the confidence to move forward and offer this opportunity to many more children. The OrKidstra program is bringing so many parts of the community together. This helps to strengthen the bonds between like-minded organizations to create a musical force loud and harmonious enough to make a big difference!

Led by Artistic Director, Danielle Irvine, Perchance Theatre at Cupids (formerly known as New World Theatre Project) produces and presents classical theatre each summer in Cupids, Newfoundland and Labrador. A breathtaking community on Newfoundland’s east coast, Cupids was the first English colony in Canada, and turned 400 years old in 2010. Built as part of the Cupids 400 celebration, Perchance Theatre’s outdoor performance space was inspired by Shakespeare’s famous Globe Theatre in London, England. Perchance Theatre features some of the province’s best stage actors and captures stories reminiscent of John Guy’s England, particularly what the settlers might have seen, heard, or written about in 1610.

Roots to Harvest is a not for profit and charitable organization based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. We are about food, about young people, about community, and about doing things in good ways. The first time a person learns where food comes from; the life changing experience of serving those in need; the heat of a greenhouse; the dirt under your fingernails; the feel of a handful of red wiggler compost worms; the first seedlings… This is Roots to Harvest. It's about learning, growing, inquiry & getting dirty. Young people connect with mentors & experts in the community to explore the food system from many different sides – production, distribution, access, culture, and sustainability.

We take these urban kids and bring them to our Lakeside wilderness location in Newmarket and offer them experiences that make them feel like part of a family. We help hundreds of kids develop practical skills, relevant knowledge and self-confidence. We concentrate on prevention rather than rehabilitation. In this way Trails builds trust and confidence and has a real influence on the direction of youths' lives.

We believe that individuals with learning, literacy and attention difficulties can achieve their full potential and become contributing members to society in a supportive and collaborative community.

From the early 1830s to 1998, thousands of First Nation, Inuit and Métis children were forced to attend residential schools in an attempt to assimilate them into the dominant culture. Those children suffered abuses of the mind, body, emotions, and spirit that can be almost unimaginable. Over 150,000 children, some as young as four years old, attended the government-funded and church-run residential schools. It is estimated that there are 80,000 residential school Survivors alive today. We develop innovative, unique, and effective educational programming on residential schools and the long-term effects they have on Survivors, their families, and their communities. Accessed by hundreds of thousands of Canadians, these resources include websites, travelling exhibitions, secondary school curriculum, and an oral history collection of Survivor testimony.

The British Columbia Law Institute was created in January 1997 by incorporation under the Provincial Society Act. It is the effective successor to the British Columbia Law Reform Commission which ceased operations that year. BCLI carries out scholarly research, writing and analysis for law reform, collaborating with government and other entities, and providing materials and support for outreach and public information. In 2003 BCLI created the Canadian Centre for Elder Law (CCEL) as a vehicle to carry forward its work in relation to legal issues affecting seniors. CCEL is a response to the need in Canada for a body that has a dedicated focus on this area to facilitate the development of Elder Law as a coherent body of knowledge. Serbian Heritage Museum of Windsor is the only such museum in Canada and is dedicated to upholding its mandate of multiculturalism in Canada by preserving, celebrating and promoting the experience and contribution of Serbian heritage in the lives and communities of Canadians. The museum’s aim is to preserve the knowledge of Serbian immigrants to Ontario and Canada, and to promote the great contribution made by Serbs to Canada’s industrial, cultural, social and intellectual life. The Serbian Heritage Museum is a focus of local, national and international collaboration in programs and research that are accessible to individuals and organizations.

The UNF Foundation supports the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada and its Branches who,on behalf of the Foundation coordinate cultural, educational and charitable activities of the Foundation by: - supporting Ukrainian cultural and educational life in Canada through Ukrainian folkdance groups, choirs, operas, musical ensembles, libraries, museums, summer camps, sports clubs, educational courses, Ukrainian schools, seniors’ and computer clubs. - publishing books, magazines, and the weekly newspaper The New Pathway . - cooperating with Ukrainian organizations in Canada, in Ukraine, and other countries. - establishing educational ventures such as the Paul Yuzyk Institute for Youth Leadership
