COLLECTION ITEMS ACQUIRED EITHER THROUGH PURCHASES OR DONATION ARE NOT CAPITALIZED. PURCHASES OF COLLECTION ITEMS ARE RECORDED AS DECREASES IN NET ASSETS WITHOUT DONOR RESTRICTIONS IF PURCHASED WITH ASSETS WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS AND AS A DECREASE IN NET ASSETS WITH DONOR RESTRICTIONS IF PURCHASED WITH DONOR-RESTRICTED ASSETS. CONTRIBUTIONS OF COLLECTION ITEMS ARE NOT RECOGNIZED IN THE STATEMENT OF ACTIVITIES. THE ASSOCIATION'S INSURANCE POLICY OF MUSEUM COLLECTIONS EXPIRED IN NOVEMBER 1995. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS DETERMINED THAT IT IS NOT FEASIBLE TO OBTAIN SIMILAR COVERAGE ON THE COLLECTIONS DUE TO THE HIGH PREMIUM COST.

The National Constitution Center is the first and only institution in America established by Congress to “disseminate information about the United States Constitution on a non-partisan basis in order to increase the awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people.” The Constitution Center brings the United States Constitution to life by hosting interactive exhibitions and constitutional conversations and inspires active citizenship by celebrating the American constitutional tradition. Our non-partisan mission is best expressed in our three goals: to serve the nation and the world as the Museum of We the People, a national Headquarters for Civic Education, and America’s Town Hall. We illuminate the constitutional debates that affect the lives of all Americans by hosting constitutional conversations on Independence Mall in Philadelphia and across a range of media platforms, and we inspire active citizenship by celebrating the American constitutional tradition. As the Museum of We the People, the Constitution Center features hundreds of interactive exhibits, engaging theatrical performances, and original documents of freedom. As America’s town hall, the National Constitution Center hosts constitutional debates across a range of broadcast and digital media platforms. As a national and international center for civic education, the Constitution Center offers cutting edge constitutional seminars, discussions, course materials, and interactive and digital resources for students of all ages.

The mission of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is to build and maintain a public venue that promotes the art, enjoyment and knowledge of horticulture, while providing opportunities for education and research. We are committed to excellence, good management and fiscal responsibility.

The Museum showcases modern and contemporary art.

The Garden's three-pronged mission focuses on horticulture, education and scientific research. Through the display and utilization of our collections and programming in these three areas, the Garden enriches the lives of thousands of children and adults, providing an important message of conservation and civic responsibility.

To design and build The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial as a symbol of honor and unity for all disabled veterans from all branches of the service and from all conflicts and generations; and to educate, inform and remind all Americans of the human costs of war, and of the sacrifices that our disabled veterans have made on behalf of American freedoms.
