VICTORIA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The alumni association helps keep the connection to Vic High for alumni by: -Supporting class reunions, -Sponsoring social functions and celebrations that promote Vic High, -Producing an annual newsletter, and -Maintaining a website for the alumni. The association also helps Vic High and its students directly by: Funding scholarships and bursaries totalling approximately $8,000 each year and raising special funds for projects like: -refurbishing and purchasing a professional sound system for the auditorium, -purchasing a bus for the use of the school, and -raising funds to support on-going school activities in the areas of performing visual arts, sports and vocational education. The association works with the Archives group that has assembled a truly remarkable collection of records chronicling many aspects of the school since its earliest days.

Canadian Environmental Law Foundation

Our public service is available to visitors to our library. Our computer library catalogue has over 20,000 records and materials on regulatory reform, policy, law and legal precedents, materials from environmental organizations and advocacy groups. The focus is on Ontario and Canadian issues but increasingly includes United States and international resources as well. The range of topics is wide: air pollution, biotechnology, climate change, environmental health, environmental law, environmental politics, Great Lakes, international trade and development, land use planning, northern development, pesticides, toxic substances, waste management, water quality and quantity, wetlands, wildlife and endangered species.

NANAIMO SEARCH AND RESCUE

The Nanaimo Search and Rescue Society (NSAR) is a registered non-profit society in British Columbia. The group was formed in 1991 and is composed entirely of volunteers. NSAR is responsible for ground and inland water search and rescue within the jurisdiction of the Nanaimo RCMP detachment. The area covered includes portions of the Regional District of Nanaimo, as well as within the City of Nanaimo.

BRITISH COLUMBIA LAW INSTITUTE

The British Columbia Law Institute was created in January 1997 by incorporation under the Provincial Society Act. It is the effective successor to the British Columbia Law Reform Commission which ceased operations that year. BCLI carries out scholarly research, writing and analysis for law reform, collaborating with government and other entities, and providing materials and support for outreach and public information. In 2003 BCLI created the Canadian Centre for Elder Law (CCEL) as a vehicle to carry forward its work in relation to legal issues affecting seniors. CCEL is a response to the need in Canada for a body that has a dedicated focus on this area to facilitate the development of Elder Law as a coherent body of knowledge. CANHAVE CHILDREN'S CENTRE INC

CANHAVE (Canadians Helping AIDS Victims with Education)is headquartered in Ottawa. CANHAVE CHILDREN'S CENTRE has two inter-related programs: The Children's Program which educates and cares for 60 HIV/AIDS-affected orphans and The Trade School Program which develops and manages the CANHAVE Trade School in Kisubi, Uganda, with a view to making its operation increasingly sustainable over the long-term, and, at the same time, to provide post-secondary education to CANHAVE children. The Three Hills Arts Academy Society

The Three Hills Arts Academy Society is a non-profit community arts organization, with charity status, that concentrates on education in piano, strings, music theory and history, the visual arts and drama, as well as performance through recitals, concerts and community theatre. CDHF - Canadian Digestive Health Foundation

Over 20 million Canadians suffer from digestive disorders every year. We believes this is unnecessary and unacceptable. The CDHF reduces suffering and improvs quality of life by empowering Canadians with trusted, up to date, science-based information about digestive health and disease. We are the Foundation of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG). As such, we work directly with leading physicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals to help Canadians understand and take control of their digestive health with confidence and optimism. Through research and public education, we aim to: REDUCE the incidence and prevalence of digestive disorders; IMPROVE understanding of digestive health issues; SUPPORT those suffering from digestive disorders; and, ENHANCE quality of life for those living with digestive disorders.

The Leacock Foundation

The Leacock Club and Foundation was established in 1992 and has a 16 year history of making a difference in the lives of children. The Leacock Club provides funding for its associated charitable public foundation—the Stephen Leacock Foundation for Children. Since its inception, our supporters have donated $5.5 million to its public foundation- the Stephen Leacock Foundation for Children, through membership donations, corporate sponsorship and special events. We are Efficient: Administration expenses are held to a 10% threshold. We achieve this efficiency through careful budgeting, low overheads and volunteerism.

Camp Jumoke was founded by The Association For the Advancement of Blacks in Health Sciences (AABHS) and is dedicated to enriching the lives of children with Sickle Cell Disease. The continuing mandate of the Camp Jumoke organization is to better serve the needs of hundreds of children across Canada afflicted with SCD.
