Lula Washington Dance Theatre is a 501 c 3 tax exempt non-profit organization founded in 1980 by Lula and Erwin Washington to provide a creative outlet for minority dance artists in South Los Angeles through a community-based school of dance and dance center; a Youth Dance Ensemble; and a world class modern dance company that will perform works that uplift the human spirit. The educational goal is to create a community-based dance school in the inner city where local youth can learn the art of dance, launch careers in the dance field and use dance as a tool to help them build the skills needed to be successful in life.
The Seattle Ladies Choir is made up of 50+ members with varying musical experience, from shower singers to professional musicians. It is a non-audition choir that strives to provide a supportive community for members and to connect through music.
At Hungry for Music, our mission is putting quality musical instruments into hungry hands. We serve children who demonstrate a desire to learn music, as well as teachers who have students willing to learn. In 23 years, we've delivered 10,000 instruments to children in 48 states and 20 countries. We believe that by sharing instruments and musical experiences, children who would not otherwise have the opportunity can experience a kind of freedom and self-discovery that is often stifled in an atmosphere of economic hardship.
