Our mission is to enhance doctor/patient communication, specifically in end-of-life conversations; strengthen patient-centered healthcare; and to reduce health and healthcare disparities with a focus on chronically and terminally ill homeless individuals. In 2015, HCRI, Inc. began a new journey – to create a hospice house for the terminally ill homeless in Sacramento, CA – Joshua’s House – in memory of a young man, Joshua Lee (1980-2014), who had a vision of preventing those homeless men and women who were seriously and terminally ill from dying alone, scared and in pain on the streets or along the rivers of our community. We are using a community-based approach with an Advisory Board comprised of representatives from local hospitals; hospice programs; California State University, Sacramento; University of California, Davis, School of Medicine and School of Nursing; organizations that focus on housing for the homeless; medical clinics; as well as the homeless community.

The Roxy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire, educate & engage diverse audiences about the natural and human worlds through cinematic and cultural events. Programs include year-round cinematic and cultural programming at the Roxy, the annual International Wildlife Film Festival the Montana Film Festival, and educational programs under the Roxy Film Academy. The Roxy Film Academy is a leader in the filmmaking community and provides education for youth, production support, promotion and excellence in film exhibition for Montana films and filmmakers.

To organize and manage a monthly film series and an annual film festival that serves the educational, cultural and entertainment needs of the LGBT community and our allies. Through the OUT at the Movies series and the OUT at the Movies Int'l LGBT Film Fest, we celebrate domestic and international film as part of our mission to enrich our community.

Founded in 2013, the Youth Documentary Academy (YDA) trains young people how to direct and produce their own documentary films. For seven weeks, students learn all aspects of documentary filmmaking from professional filmmakers, faculty and guest artists. At the end of the program, students complete a film, receive a certificate, and learn how to distribute their films to film festivals, community organizations and television outlets.

Project Twenty1 has an EPIC mission. We Educate, Promote, Inspire, and Connect creatives through film and animation programs in the Greater Philadelphia area that attract participants from all over the world. We help turn artistic passions into careers. We help unite the world of independent artists, allow them direct paths to their audiences, and at the same time build the cultural and artistic scene in Philadelphia and beyond. We create a network of support, promotion, and distribution through which motivated filmmakers and artists can get their work seen internationally. And in the process, we witness the birth of exciting new creative relationships and truly original, entertaining films.

Founded in 1991, we create and produce cultural programming about the arts and architecture.

At SPD, we connect readers with writers through independently published literature. Founded in 1969, SPD is currently the only distributor in the country dedicated exclusively to independently published literature.

The Animation Project nurtures the social, emotional and cognitive growth of at-risk youth, using digital art technology as a therapeutic medium and a workforce development tool.

FilmNorth’s mission is to empower artists to tell their stories, launch and sustain successful careers, and advance The North as a leader in the national network of independent filmmakers. We achieve our mission by nurturing a vibrant, diverse community of film and media artists; providing education and resources at every stage of their careers; and celebrating their achievements.

Studio Two Three is a nonprofit arts organization. We give people the space, tools and education they need to find that thing they love and make it!

Community TV Network (CTVN) teaches cutting-edge digital video production to low-income youth throughout Chicago. We promote positive youth and community development with the overall goal of raising the educational success and economic viability of the neighborhoods where our youth participants live and work. Since1974, we have used video as an art form and educational tool to improve the opportunities available to low-income African-American and Latino youth in Chicago. In 1980, we incorporated as an independent, tax exempt nonprofit and have emerged as an innovative leader in youth media. Our media literacy curriculum empowers youth with a platform of self representation while cultivating academic and job skills, self-esteem, community awareness and intellectual curiosity. Over 9,500 of Chicago's at-risk youth have participated in CTVN's media literacy programs, creating insightful videos for their peers and leaving behind a rich legacy. The nearly 500 videos that make up our media library form a vibrant digital catalogue composed of authentic youth voices. The library serves as a valuable teaching resource and offers rarely-seen histories of Chicago communities. Every year, our youth producers add to this unique collection, producing dozens of videos that are broadcast in Chicago and New York City, streamed online, and screened in film festivals throughout the U.S.
