Hospice Northwest is a non-profit charity operating in Thunder Bay and area since 1987. The organization was founded with the sole purpose of providing compassionate support to persons living with a life limiting illness and their caregivers. Services throughout the District of Thunder Bay are provided primarily by volunteers, congruent with provincial and national standards of practice.

Women In Need Society (WINS) is a charitable organization in Calgary. Established in 1992, WINS’ mission is to help women help themselves through innovative and effective programs and services. WINS works with women in low-income situations. This includes: - women coming out of shelters - single mothers and their children - women in transition - new Canadians WINS goal is that women have the resources, knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve self-sufficiency. At WINS we understand that to develop human potential to its fullest we must do more than simply provide for the basic human needs of food, clothing, and shelter. Our approach is to work step by step to help women help themselves.

Marshall Relief Alliance is a community-led disaster relief and recovery nonprofit that coordinates immediate aid (meals, supplies, intake) and longer-term rebuilding support for residents affected by Hurricane Helene and other local disasters. The group focuses on uniting local volunteers, donations, and resources to help households and small businesses recover and rebuild.

Aidan's Heart Foundation is committed to providing awareness, education, and support to the communities of the southeast Pennsylvania region and its surrounding area to create heart-safe communities for youth regarding the prevention of and/or response to Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

We rapidly deploy trained volunteers to deliver compassionate, effective disaster response and recovery. Partnering with communities and agencies, we save lives, restore hope, and build resilience. Our teams act quickly after tornadoes, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and other disasters to provide life-saving aid. We launch search, rescue, and recovery missions with urgency and precision. In recovery efforts, we help clear debris and restore vital infrastructure. We work closely with emergency services, government, and nonprofit partners to ensure a coordinated response. Our volunteers receive hands-on training tailored to real-world disaster scenarios, ensuring they are safe, confident, and ready to serve.

The mission of Alliance to Feed the Earth in Disasters (ALLFED) is to help build resilience to global catastrophic food system failure. ALLFED seeks to provide practical, affordable, and resilient food solutions so that, in the event of a global catastrophe, governments, industry, and communities can respond quickly and distribute food equitably, saving lives and promoting the continuation of global cooperation. We focus on events, such as large volcanic eruptions, pandemics, and cyberattacks, which could deplete 5% or more of global calorie output, or access to those calories. In such events, the loss of food would likely kill far more people than the catastrophe itself directly. “Resilient food solutions'' are what ALLFED calls the foods, technologies, and systems that could help everyone survive global catastrophic food failure. ALLFED’s ultimate goal is to feed everyone, no matter what.

Our services extend beyond simply providing food. Our programs are designed to build skills that help people move out of the cycle of poverty. We offer a full range of programs within our facility including: the provision of Emergency Food Assistance, the Food Co-operative program, Infant, Youth, Adult and Seniors Program and Employment Readiness Programs. Programs provided by outside agencies available at our facility include: Family Counselling Centre of Cambridge and North Dumfries; Waterloo Region Community Legal Services and ACCKWA.

Outreach International is a global nonprofit that supports local leaders and community-led groups who develop lasting solutions to poverty-related issues.Together with local leaders, we empower communities to organize, prioritize and mobilize to identify their needs, and then access the resources necessary to overcome challenges and reach their goals. Along the way, communities gain the experience of working together toward a shared objective, as well as the confidence that comes from achieving success through collaboration. Our mission is to confront the injustice of chronic poverty through community-led action. Facilitating the fundamentals of participatory development ensures that those most affected by poverty-related issues become those best equipped to permanently resolve them.
