Lions Foundation of Canada operates Dog Guides Canada, a national school which trains and provides Dog Guides at no cost to Canadians with visual, hearing or other physical or medical disabilities. The Dog Guide programs are Canine Vision Canada, Hearing Ear, Special Skills,Seizure Response and Autism Assistance Dog Guides.

Pathways to Education Canada is a charitable organization that helps youth in low-income communities graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education or training. Pathways to Education addresses systemic barriers to education by providing leadership, expertise and a community-based program proven to lower dropout rates. Founded in 2001, Pathways operates in 12 communities across Canada, with programs in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Manitoba.

Brothers and Sisters for Israel is currently the largest aid organization in Israel. We are a 100% civilian voluntary based operation, so that every dollar donated goes directly and entirely to the actual goods and services that are needed. Since the onset of this war, we have been running an unprecedented Civil Emergency Headquarters. Our teams collect requirements both bottoms up as well as tops down, to make sure real needs are met. Accordingly, we mobilize critical resources, including food, water, clothing, medical equipment and aid, provide accommodation for displaced families, evacuate those in war zones, locate missing individuals, procure vital equipment, and much more.

Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island is a registered charity whose purpose is to raise funds to support the health and well being of children and youth in need on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our roots go back to 1922, and we were previously known as the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and audited annually, funds are carefully allocated to facilities, services, programs, special projects and urgently needed medical equipment that help ensure children and youth develop to their full potential. Operating since 1981, we serve . . . the working poor, the unemployed and the homeless. Thousands come to us each year for a helping hand. It is only through the generosity of the community that we are able to give that helping hand. Our programs include . . . THE HAVEN - emergency shelter for youth ages 16-21 . . . RENT/UTILITY - assistance for people with an eviction notice or utility shut-off notice to help remain in their housing . . . EMERGENCY SHELTER - for adults and families. Temporary shelter and assistance in locating permanent housing . . . GENESIS - provides clothing and small household items at no cost . . . FOOD BANK - provides grocery store style selection with dry goods, bakery items, refrigerator and freezer sections. Clients can access every 21 days . . . SOUP KITCHEN - serves a hot meal 365 days of the year in a social setting.

Providing Hope to Children One Lunch at a Time! Why Community Crew? The children we serve are going to grow up to do great things, and it’s our job to make sure that they know this. They shouldn’t be worried about where their next meal is coming from. At Community Crew, we are dedicated to providing nutritious lunches to kids who need them most. But it doesn’t stop there. Through community engagement we are helping to inspire our future leaders to understand the importance of giving back and working together. From encouraging notes in lunches to friendly smiles and high-fives at school, everything we do is aimed to help children gain the confidence they need to succeed.

The St. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia Lambton is a non-profit organization ready to extend a supporting hand and provide compassionate care to enhance quality and dignity of life for those diagnosed with a terminal illness and their families. Service is extended from time of diagnosis through bereavement. Established programs include the "Walking Companions" Bereavement Support Groups, complementary therapies (massage, hair care, manicure, pedicure, Reiki, therapeutic touch), "Food for Thought" Luncheons, resource library and the "Caring Hearts" Children's Grief and Bereavement program. A residential hospice will also be operational in 2008. Caring for the mind, body and spirit is essential to improving the quality of life. People of all cultures, ages and belief systems have unique needs to which the Hospice's specially trained staff will respond with compassion and respect. All services are available free of charge to registered clients.
