RYAN'S WELL FOUNDATION

• Nearly one billion people lack access to safe water. • Over 2.6 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation. Ryan’s Well grew from the commitment of one boy, Ryan Hreljac, who learned of the great need for clean water in his 1st grade class. With the support of friends, family and the community, Ryan raised enough money to build his first well at Angolo Primary School in Uganda in 1999. With your help, we can change the startling statistics presented by the global water and sanitation crisis. Since 2001, we have helped build over 700 wells and 900 latrines, bringing safe water and sanitation to over 750,000 people. Ryan’s story is compelling and empowers people of all ages – youth in particular – to take action and effect positive change in the world. We educate on the importance of clean water and of volunteering through speaking appearances, social media and our educational resources. Your donation makes a difference! www.ryanswell.ca/[email protected]

REAPS: RECYCLING & ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION & PLANNING SOCIETY

The Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society (REAPS) was established in October of 1989 with the mandate of fostering environmental stewardship in the Regional District of Fraser Fort George. Our main focus is on waste reduction, in which we are assisting the Regional District towards its goal in reducing the amount of waste going into the Prince George landfill by 50% plus. COLE HARBOUR PARKS AND TRAILS ASSOCIATION

This all volunteer group has built and now maintains over 23 km of trails in the Cole Harbour Area of Nova Scotia. The Salt Marsh and Heritage trails, part of the Trans Canada Trail system, form the backbone of our system and have gained widespread praise for the views. We have also built and maintained the Cole Harbour Heritage Park on behalf of the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources. The Park and the trails provide residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality and visitors from around the world with a valuable resource for recreation, fitness and perhaps most of all the opportunity to have a wilderness experience complete with varied coastal wildlife close to the urban core. The group successfully leverages grants from all levels of government along with private donations to work closely with local contractors to provide a first class trail and park system at low cost.
