We are clearly at a time when the mental and emotional health of our young people is at an all time low. To offer our young people an alternative to depression, suicide, low self esteem, alcohol and drug abuse, unsafe sexual activity, violence and criminal activity, seems to be something that ought to be a priority in our schools these days. Offering tools whcih teach younge people to control and manage their emotions and their stress more effectively is an option, yet most schools don't know that such an option exists. YES! Youth Empowerment Seminar for High Schools is something that specifically addresses these issues for young people. YES! provides teens with practical and effective tools to reduce stress, increase mental clarity thereby improving study and skills and test scores, manage emotions, develop leadership skills and take greater responsibility for their own comunities.

The core areas of the organization are: Environmental monitoring -aquatic, terrestrial and marine habitats, invasive species, biodiversity, air quality and commercial and recreational fisheries. Habitat conservation -fish habitat restoration, riparian zone rehabilitation, fresh and salt marsh renewal, private stewardship agreements and sustainable agriculture. Pollution prevention -water conservation, management of on-site systems, engineered wetland wastewater systems, energy conservation and pesticide use. Climate change -climate change predications, coastal flooding, storm surge modeling and predictive and adaptive measures. Energy conservation -energy conservation planning, home energy audits, energy farm planning and anti-idling initiatives. Environmental education -school curriculum, community involvement, citizen scientist engagement, professional development and special interactive events like field days and community demonstrations.

Carmanah Forestry Society has been instrumental in protecting old growth forests on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. Our methods have been to create issues through a broad base of creating public awareness. We hold public meetings, meet with decision makers and provide both the public with accurate information regarding the values of those forest lands. We also critique government and industry programs.

The organization is a local service club based in Norfolk County and is a member of Rotary International. The organization is a Public Foundation comprised of a diverse group of men and women volunteers who have joined together in active community service, both locally in Norfolk County, nationally within Canada and internationally around the world. The organization achieves its mission through disbursements to other Registered Charities whose activities achieve the relief of poverty, advancement of education or other purposes beneficial to a community.

Back in 1999, a group of volunteers within the community wanted to create a fundraiser to raise funds that would be designated to purchasing an accessible taxi van, so that individuals with mobility impairments in the Town of Richmond Hill would have more access to transit through the Richmond Hill Transit system. At that time, each municipality in York Region ran their own transit system. There was a similar organization that was already incorporated in the Town of Markham, and their example was helpful with a track record of raising funds on an annual basis to purchase wheelchair accessible vans for transit in the Town of Markham. From that point, the idea was formed to create a Richmond Hill Mobility and Accessibility Foundation. The founders of this foundation wanted to raise funds so that individuals could move more freely in the Town of Richmond Hill via the transit services.

The Society of Friends of St. Ann's Academy -- Victoria, B.C. was founded in 1997 to work with the Provincial Capital Commission (stewards of the site) in the on-going development and promotion of the heritage grounds, heritage building, and the Interpretive Centre. The Society is currently working on 'Educate and Celebrate 2008', a four day festival of events, June 5 - June 8, 2008, which will honour and celebrate 150 years of the Sisters of St. Ann in Victoria, and 150 years of St. Ann's Academy.

Situated in Hesquiaht Traditional Territory, the northern tip of Clayoquot Sound, the Boat Basin Foundation encompasses 117 acres of temperate rainforest along the west coast of Vancouver Island. It is home to the legendary Cougar Annie's Garden and the Temperate Rainforest Field Study Centre.

The Village of Glen Williams was established by The Benija Williams in 1840.The Glen Williams Town Hall Board was created on March 28,1870. Its purpose is to manage and maintain the Town Hall building located at 1 Pronce Street, and to organise events and functions of all kinds for the benefit of all citizens in the area. The Town Hall became a registered charity in 1983.

Futurewatch is a nonprofit charitable organization founded in 1993. We foster the development of innovative, collaborative partnerships among diverse stakeholders in Canada and overseas. In Canada, we work cooperatively with local partners to identify community priorities and establish programs that involve people most affected by the issues. Our program incorporate education and action - learning and participation and are geared to people from diverse ethnic backgrounds - Somali, Hispanic and South Asian. FutureWatch brings people Canada's divers population togeether around innovative environmental education initiatives and community projects like the Children's Wildflower Garden at Harbourfront Community Centre. We also have an extensive program to develop youth leaders in these communities. Our successful eco-recreation program - safe canoeing and wilderness outtripping - has been enjoyed by people of all ages and different ethnic backgrounds. It's exhilarating to see a

STCL began in 1987, was officially incorporated in 1992, and is a non-profit, Registered Canadian Charity (1996) based in the Upper Fraser River of the Robson Valley, between the Rocky and Cariboo Mountains of British Columbia, and the towns of Prince George and Jasper. Our goal is to protect ecosystems of old growth cedar, British Columbia’s provincial tree, which scientists say face extinction in less than 15 years.
