The Foundation raises philanthropic support and distributes scholarships, emergency aid, and student services to increase access, persistence, and success for Los Angeles City College students—particularly those who are low‑income or historically underserved. It partners with donors and campus programs to address basic needs (food, housing, textbooks, transportation) and academic supports.

THE NABE FOUNDATION SEEKS TO ENHANCE THE FIELD AND APPLICATION OF BUSINESS ECONOMICS.

Save the Bay™, and keep it saved, as defined by reaching a 70 on CBF's Health Index. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation's (CBF) mission, simply stated, is to Save the Bay and keep it saved. We define a Saved Bay as having a score of 70 (out of 100) on CBF's State of the Bay health index. Thanks largely to a dramatic reduction in the amount of pollution entering the system, at 70, the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers will be highly productive and in good health as measured by established water-quality standards. The result will be clear water, free of impacts from toxic contaminants, and healthy oxygen levels, able to support living resources in all parts of the Bay.

From the degraded rainforests of Brazil to the arid landscapes of Morocco, Ecosystem Restoration Communities is a global movement that harnesses the collective power of individuals and communities to restore our planet’s ecosystems. Change takes root when it’s locally driven - and that’s why Ecosystem Restoration Communities are born, led, and sustained by the people who live there. Grounded in trust and community knowledge, they grow lasting solutions that ripple outward, educating, inspiring, and creating regional impact far beyond what traditional top-down conservation can achieve. When you support us, you help communities as they restore their land and livelihoods and foster a deep connection to nature - bringing hope, resilience, and global impact. Our mission is to: a) contribute to a fully functioning, peaceful, abundant and biologically diverse Earth through co-operative efforts for the ecological restoration of degraded lands; b) stimulate and support community based initiative, leadership, and capacity to implement activities and undertake interventions that result in restored ecological function, climate resilience, biodiversity enrichment, and restored water cycles while at the same time enhancing livelihoods and human well-being; c) disseminate knowledge, innovations and insights emanating from these community-based initiatives to policy makers, academia, practitioners and the general public; and d) train large numbers of people to restore the fundamental ecological integrity of earth, and to connect knowledge and expertise about these activities worldwide.

Peace Sisters assists over 470 underprivileged girls to access educational opportunities in Togo, West Africa. Peace Sisters was founded by Tina Kampor, a Togolese American woman who moved to California in 2003 and worked hard so she would be able to send money back to Togo to help girls who might otherwise have dropped out of school. School fee payments, solar study lamps, ID Cards, menstrual pads, and basic health insurance are some of the ways that Peace Sisters helps girls to succeed in their education. In 2021, Peace Sisters celebrated the first college graduation by a girl in our program!

Dance Theatre of Harlem preserves and advances Arthur Mitchell’s legacy by presenting a multicultural ballet company, running a world-class school that trains young people in classical ballet and allied arts, and delivering arts-education and community outreach programs to expand access and opportunity in the arts.

Founded in 1881, Spelman College is an outstanding historically Black college for women. Spelman promotes academic excellence in the liberal arts, and develops the intellectual, ethical, and leadership potential of its students. Spelman seeks to empower the total person, who appreciates the many cultures of the world and commits to positive social change. Spelman's student body consists of more than 2,100 students from 41 states and 15 foreign countries, and has a student-faculty ratio of 12 to one. Teach For America exists to address the problem of the opportunity gap; our mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort. In the immediate term, we serve as a critical source of talented and committed teachers, called corps members, who compensate for the additional challenges their students face to provide them with the educational opportunities they deserve. Our corps members' positive impact on students' academic achievement provides tangible evidence that it is possible for all students to succeed when they get the right support. At the same time, helping their students succeed intensifies corps members' sense of urgency and gives them a deep grounding in what it will take to ensure that all students in our nation have the opportunity to attain an excellent education. Over the long run, we produce an alumni force with the talent, conviction, insight, and experience to effect the fundamental changes necessary to realize our vision of educational opportunity for all. New Directions believes that people who have disabilities deserve the same opportunities in life that others expect and enjoy. Our profoundly enriching travel programs expand the self-esteem of every traveler. Whole new worlds of understanding open for both participants and the general population.
