Vision Du Monde - World Vision

Created in 2002, Vision du Monde is a French humanitarian organization, belonging to World Vision international partnership, which aims at helping the most vulnerable children. Thanks to its Christian DNA and driven by stewardship and human centred values, our NGO is dedicated to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice. We help the most vulnerable children to experience fullness of life, by growing, learning and achieving their dreams in a caring and secured environment. Vision du Monde works with the world's most vulnerable people in the most remote or unstable areas of the world. It serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. Our staff of 25+ deals mainly with global relief, development and advocacy. We pursue this mission through integrated, holistic commitment, working closely with children, families, communities, local authorities. We make sure that each one of them are interviewed and committed from design to fulfilment in our development programmes. Empowered step by step during the ten to fifteen years of a programme, we empower them to set their own goals, settle autonomy and pass on skills and knowledge in a sustainable and community-based outlook. Vision du Monde runs 17 development programmes in 12 countries across 4 continents. It benefits from the 70 years of experience of World Vision, first child sponsorship NGO and first Clean water humanitarian provider in the world, operating in 99 countries with offices in 85 of them. Our mission encompasses, in a global and sustainable development approach, 6 key sectors across clean water, sanitation and hygiene; food security; health; education; child protection and economic development to enable families transform relationships, build resilience and secure source of revenues. World Vision recently launched a new global strategy called Our Promise 2030, contributing to reach Sustainable Development Goals. Focusing energy and resources on increasingly fragile contexts and hard-to-reach areas, the organization strengthens his advocacy against violence, exploitation and human rights violations. Vision du Monde is dedicated more than ever to reach the most vulnerable children in the world, in difficult areas, relying on the expertise and cultural understanding of local teams, 97 % of them originating from the country. Alliances with other NGOs such as Red cross, Cares, Coordination sud or public organization such as EU or World food programme or International Labour Organization, make our action more efficient.

Fundacja Kasisi

On April 11, 2013, Kasisi Foundation was established with its mission to help children by providing ongoing and stable support for a Zambian orphanage. It is a home for over 230 children. They are orphans, half-orphans, victims of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, street children and kids that have been abandoned in the bush, in empty buildings or in latrines. A third of the children are ill, some with physical and mental disabilities. From the start we never wanted to run just a charity project and then move on. We made a commitment to stay in Kasisi (hence the name of the foundation, which identifies us so strongly with the place). We wanted to take care of Kasisi as if it was our own home. Our aim is simple - we want to give these children back their childhood and also give them a home, where they will feel important and loved. We also make sure that they can eat properly, learn, develop their passions as well as live and receive medical care in conditions that every child deserves. We started off by assisting Kasisi by saving lives. We managed to renovate a mini-clinic, equip it with equipment that allows for extensive on-site diagnostics, ensure a constant supply of medicines and to purchase an ambulance. We have created medical facilities to which children in Zambia rarely have access. As a result, we have reduced child mortality to practically zero. The next step was to improve the quality and quantity of the children's meals. Since the foundation has existed there is no longer the eternal dilemma of choosing whether to pay for food or medicine in Kasisi. Previously the children used to eat mainly bread and nshima (a local type of porridge), and meat was only available once a week. We have drastically improved the food supply and raised its quality. Long-term changes in children's development have become apparent. The number of illnesses has decreased, the children's performance in school has improved, and - perhaps most pleasing of all - they have begun talking openly about their dreams! Today, we are also trying to fulfil the children's dreams of attending the best schools in Zambia. Moreover, we pay for two of the children's medical studies in Poland and for the others we organise trips for them to get to know their country, take them to the cinema as well as arrange painting and music workshops. Furthermore, we renovate the houses in which the children live on an ongoing basis. The Kasisi Children's Home is regarded as a model institution by the Zambian authorities. However, this does not mean that our needs as a home have been satisfied. On the contrary, they are growing. More and more disadvantaged children come to us: those who need special care and who have disabilities. To be able to provide them with the best possible help, we built and equiped a new, professional physiotherapy room. During last 10 years we have witnessed more than once the power of many people giving even the smallest amounts. Thanks to them Kassisi has changed and is still changing. That is why we would like to encourage you to assist the children regularly through the "Adoptions from the Heart" project. This is a project in which anyone can help a chosen child with any amount of money by adopting them from a distance. All one needs to do is go to our website and choose the child they want to support. For us there are no sums regarded as too small - each one is worth its weight in gold. What is most important to us is that the support is given regularly. We have a fixed budget which enables us to respond to the children's needs on an ongoing basis. Your business can become a catalyst for change in the lives of these vulnerable children. We offer unique opportunities for corporate partnership, allowing your business to contribute to meaningful projects. One such endeavor includes the collaborative effort to equip a new library for the children in Kasisi, fostering their education and growth. Your participation can make a significant difference in the lives of these children, and we look forward to the possibility of working together towards a better tomorrow.

TheBoardroom Africa Foundation

Good governance ensures accountability, fairness, and transparency throughout our social, governmental, and business systems. On the African continent, women are underrepresented at every level in the workplace, especially in senior leadership roles. According to the UN, this type of unequal treatment of women in the workplace has cost Sub-Saharan Africa approximately $105bn and has significant implications on the utilization of the continents full human capital potential and achievement of its development goals. The Boardroom Africa was borne out of these realities. We champion female leadership on a pan-African level by building a network of women leaders who collectively dispel the myth that there aren't enough qualified women to support the growth of the continent. We help build role models at the top to change the way organizations are led through our educational content. We offer a board training program for women across the continent and to date, we've trained 64+ women. We also have built a community of over 1,000 women on the continent leading change and deliver open webinars, trainings, and meetups to upskill this network. Finally, we've conducted publicly released research on 13 African countries to assess the gender gap in their companies. We want to shift the demand by ensuring society realizes the benefits of increased female participation in leadership, and create an ecosystem of women who can go into the world and inspire others.
