The mission of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges is to advance the distinctive values and strengths of these smaller enrollment, primarily residential Virginia member colleges. We do this by securing financial support from the private sector, increasing visibility, facilitating innovative and collaborative initiatives among the colleges, and supporting initiatives which ensure that this personalized educational experience remains an affordable choice for tomorrow's citizen-leaders.

For over 115 years, Texas Woman’s University has held a distinctive purpose — to prepare women “for the practical industries of the age.”

Blackburn College, founded in 1837 and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), provides a coeducational student body with a rigorous, distinctive, and affordable liberal arts education that prepares graduates to be responsible, productive citizens. The Blackburn community values critical and independent thinking, leadership development, respect for all individuals, and lifelong learning. The College fosters a sense of service, community, and moral responsibility through its unique student-managed work program, its collegial concept of shared governance, and its faculty/staff mentor relationship with students.

Its mission seeks to: generate funds and endowments for scholarships to Grayson College students; encourage gifts for facilities and equipment; develop private funding sources for new programmatic ventures; and communicate the evolving needs of the College to constituencies to facilitate collaborative and mutually supportive relationships.

The first Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, three young CCVI logoFrench women motivated by the love of God and their recognition of God's presence in each person, came to San Antonio in 1869 to minister to the sick and the poor. Their spirit of Christian service is perpetuated in the University of the Incarnate Word primarily through teaching and scholarship, encompassing research and artistic expression. Inspired by Judeo-Christian values, the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, and Catholic Social Teaching,¹ the University of the Incarnate Word aims to educate men and women who will become concerned and enlightened citizens within the global community. The University of the Incarnate Word is committed to educational excellence in a context of faith in Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word of God. Thus, through a liberal education² the university cultivates the development of the whole person and values of life-long learning. Valencia Foundation's mission is to enhance learning, workforce training and economic development in Central Florida through the support of scholarships, teaching chairs, programs and buildings for Valencia College.

The mission of Lighthouse Writers Workshop is to provide the highest caliber of artistic education, support, and community for writers and readers in the Rocky Mountain Region and beyond. We strive to ensure that literature maintains its proper prominence in the culture, and that individuals achieve their fullest potential as artists and human beings.

The Foundation exist to promote and inspire reading and literacy, while honoring the legacy and memory of a teacher by the name of Joseph Riley Armstead, III, His passion for the success of children and reading is carried forward through book donations to children and scholarships offered in his name.

The purpose is to fund an endowed scholarship to be awarded to: first preference student in finance; second preference student in accounting.
