For more than 30 years, the Santa Barbara Education Foundation (SBEF) has provided financial resources for a multitude of projects that enhance the educational opportunities for every student in the Santa Barbara Unified School District. SBEF is the only funding organization that has the unique and specific mission of supporting all 15,000 students throughout 22 schools in the district. SBEF provides and supports programs that enrich the academic, artistic, and personal development of all students in the Santa Barbara Unified School District.

Beechwood is a private independent school community of 170 students, 30 staff members, and over 100 families. The school includes one class per grade from Kinder Prep through Eighth Grade. Beechwood offers its young learners a safe, nurturing environment that addresses the academic and social needs of each child. The Centro Hispano Marista offers GED® preparation classes for young, Hispanic adults to obtain their GED® Certification. This will enable them to pursue higher education and to obtain better jobs.

The Good Shepherd Nativity Mission School, Inc. seeks to help low-income, urban youth in order to realize their fullest potential as productive members of society by providing them with an extended day, year-round, quality education, integrated with personal, moral and spiritual development and continued guidance during the students’ further education. The Judeo-Christian values which have inspired the Nativity model include a respect for the dignity and potential of each person, a responsibility to assist the poor and those in need, a strong sense of community within the one family of God, and the obligation to promote a society characterized by social justice.  In this Nativity model, students are enrolled without regard to race, color, religion or ethnicity.

The mission of Minaret Academy is to provide a unique and exemplary education in an Islamic environment. We instill a love of Islam and learning through a balanced and a comprehensive curriculum that aims to educate the whole child. Here at Minaret Academy, we take a holistic approach to teaching; we nurture the academic, social, intellectual and religious development of each student. Excelling in instructing preschool ages up to grade eight, our students leave our school equipped with the emotional, academic, and spiritual foundation necessary for navigating the challenging years of university and beyond. We're very honored to announce that Minaret Academy is a WASC Accredited Private School. In addition to accomplishing our goal of receiving our accreditation, we also have a made a vow to implement the latest technology into our curriculum. Minaret Academy students develop a high technological acuity and benefit from an emphasis on STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). We are also focusing on the new California Common Core State Standards, which emphasize college and career readiness, along with critical thinking and reasoning skills.
