MATHCOUNTS provides engaging math programs to U.S. middle school students of all ability levels to build confidence and improve attitudes about math and problem solving.

Our mission is to ensure that all students are mathematically equipped to solve the world's most challenging problems. To achieve this goal, we are changing the way math is taught in the United States. We believe every child has the potential to be a powerful learner and to acquire the problem-solving and math proficiency needed to compete in a knowledge-based economy. Through our uniquely visual, non-language-based approach to teaching math — delivered through our ST Math instructional software — students across the country are deeply understanding math, developing perseverance and problem-solving skills, and becoming life-long learners prepared for success.

Marymount, Los Angeles was founded at the request of the Most Reverend John Cantwell, the first Archbishop of Los Angeles. Directed by Mother Joseph Butler, the founder and visionary of Marymount Schools in the United States, five pioneering sisters of the RSHM opened the doors of Marymount, Los Angeles to twelve students on September 23, 1923. The original campus was on 28th Street, adjacent to the University of Southern California. As enrollment grew, the site proved inadequate and eight years later, Marymount moved to its present location on Sunset Boulevard, across the street from the University of California, Los Angeles. The new six-and-a-half acre campus had much to commend it: beautiful yet functional Spanish Mission style buildings with ample space for athletic and recreational facilities all set in lovely surroundings. Throughout the years, several new buildings were added, all in keeping with the original architecture of the school. In 1982, Marymount was declared a California heritage cultural monument because of its outstanding architecture in the Spanish Colonial Revival mode and its history as a cultural center for learning. With sister schools in New York, Europe and South America, Marymount gratefully acknowledges the Religious who had the vision and strength to establish an international network of schools committed to service and to women’s education. Throughout its history, Marymount has remained dedicated to the goal of providing an education that fosters the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social maturity of the whole person. Each student is encouraged to find her own voice and to challenge herself through academics and co-curricular programs coupled with a deep commitment to serving others.

New Visions for Public Schools, founded in 1989, is the largest education reform organization dedicated to improving the quality of education children receive in New York City's public schools. Based on a nearly 20-year track record, we have been chosen to provide intensive support to 76 public schools across the city, serving over 35,000 students in total. Connecting Students to SuccessIn 1995, PENCIL was founded with the goal of raising awareness about public education by inviting civic and business leaders into New York City public schools. From those early days to our work today implementing hands-on, immersive programs that open eyes, open minds, and open doors, PENCIL realizes its mission “to connect students to success.” PENCIL makes it easy for business professionals, educators, and students to work together—in schools and the workplace.

The PEF's mission is to raise funds to not only maintain what Palos Verdes public schools provide children, but to increase the quality of the school's instructional programs -- ensuring that our students continue to compete on a national and international level in college and beyond.  

At Prep for Prep, we envision a nation guided by ethical and effective leaders who reflect our diverse society. Through our education, leadership development, and professional advancement programs, we prepare New York City’s most promising students of color for success at top independent schools in the Northeast and support their academic and personal growth through their college graduation. Today, more than 5,000 students and alumni are leaders in almost every field imaginable.
