Yellowstone Academy’s vision is a Houston community where every child receives an education that cultivates their intellect, nourishes their spirit, and empowers them to create a fulfilling future. We believe that our community flourishes when we are able to realize the potential of all of our children. By providing an academically rigorous, faith-based education, Yellowstone Academy is answering the challenge of the education crisis that faces many students in Houston's historic 3rd Ward.

First Readers' mission is to “strengthen communities by providing quality books and literacy resources for children and their families to use at home during the earliest stages of development."

Founded in 1988, Storyteller Children?s Center provides quality tuition-free early childhood education for homeless and at-risk children, ages 18 months through five years, as well as comprehensive support services for their families.

ECDC has always believed that each child should be treated as an individual and has the opportunity to develop at his or her own pace with our low teacher/child ratios. The classroom environment promotes our philosophy that children learn through play with many independent choices available through the day. We have many self-directed activities as well as large and small group activities. We believe that the process of learning is more important than the product. Children are encouraged and supported by our trained staff as they play and learn. Having our graduates well prepared for kindergarten is an important goal at ECDC. goals and objectives our classes are child centered with activities designed to meet each child’s developmental needs. The goal of ecdc is to foster social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth in a nurturing and secure environment. Our program has three different cornerstones: • learn through play: we believe that all preschool children learn best through play. Each child is treated as an individual and has the opportunity to develop at his or her own pace. Our classroom environment reflects this philosophy with many independent choices available through the day. At ecdc, the process of learning is more important than the product. • parent involvement: the most effective education results from a partnership between parents and teachers. For this reason, ecdc was established in 1977 in sherborn as a parent cooperative. Parents spend time in the classroom interacting with their child and the teachers. The minimum time requirement is quite modest, between 4 and 7 times per year in the classroom as your child’s “guest. ” there are additional opportunities for parents who are interested, and additional involvement is welcomed. • qualified and committed staff: qualified, committed, caring and enthusiastic teachers are the cornerstone of an effective early education program. A certified early childhood educator directs ecdc, and all of our teachers have or are working toward early childhood certification. We support continuing early childhood education for our teachers.

In collaboration with parents, staff, therapists, and community, Children’s Odyssey strives to provide high quality, structured programming for children of varied developmental levels. Creatively designed activities reflect our responsiveness to children’s individual learning styles, needs, and interests while providing an engaging environment for all. Our emphasis on the whole child is consistent with our strong desire to assist a child n reaching his potential.We teach with the understanding that diversity of culture, background, gender, and physical or cognitive ability is a strength to be celebrated and respected.

To provide the highest quality education for all students, especially those who have struggled in a traditional high school setting, in order to ensure their economic independence.

MWPCCC is a community-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to create, manage, and sustain developmentally appropriate, high quality, available, culturally-sensitive pre-school, childcare, and family support services. We support families with young children and infants. We prepare children for kindergarten and a lifetime of learning by offering them an emergent curriculum, nurturing staff, and a commitment to children's social well-being in an environment that respects and celebrates diversity. Our target population is an economically and ethnically diverse group of children. We are committed to serving as many low-income/subsidized children as possible, and in fact, often we have absorbed those costs in order to make sure that that we do not turn families for lack of funds.

MONTESSORI SCHOOL TO CARE FOR AND EDUCATE CHILDREN AGES 2 1/2 TO 7 YEARS OLD. THE MONTESSORI SCHOOL PROVIDED CARE AND EDUCATION FOR 58 STUDENTS DURING THE TAX YEAR IN AN AFFORDABLE COMMUNITY SETTING.

TO PROVIDE QUALITY EDUCATION TO PRESCHOOL THROUGH FIRST GRADE IN A NURTURING, STIMULATING AND HAPPY ENVIRONMENT WITH RESPECT FOR ONESELF AND OTHERS.
