Royal West Academy Foundation

The RWA Foundation was incorporated in June 1997 and is a federally registered charitable organization. The RWAF is governed by a 12-member Board, that is elected annually and consists of parent volunteers, the school principal (or Vice Principal), and a staff representative. Meetings are held monthly at the school and are open to all members of the RWA community. Following completion of the gymnasium project in 2008, an updated auditorium, or “Performing Arts Centre” was identified as RWAF’s next goal. Since this time, the RWAF has been actively seeking $2.2 million in funding for the completion of this project. Phase one of this renovation project is slated to begin in the summer of 2013.

MONCTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Moncton Public Library contributes to the quality and vitality of life in the community. By reaching out to people from all walks of life, cultures, and backgrounds, local businesses and other community organizations through its books, materials, and programs, the library makes the City of Moncton a better place to live. With the population of the city growing at an impressive rate and the ever-rising costs of books and materials, the Moncton Public Library has reached the point at which the needs of the community extend beyond available funds. In response to these expanding needs and shrinking budgets, the Moncton Public Library Board has committed seeking ways to increase its ability to purchase books and other materials and to continue to offer all of its exciting programming.

NUTRITION FOR LEARNING INC

When a youth's stomach is empty, everything else is secondary. Students arriving at school hungry do not perform well in the classroom, have difficulty concentrating, display behavioural problems, are less alert and often lethargic. Student nutrition programs impact the physical, emotional social, cognitive, behavioural and academic needs of children and youth. Breakfast provides the necessary energy and essential nutrients needed to achieve a student's potential at school. In 2011-2012, Nutrition for Learning will provide student nutrition programs for 12,000 unique children throughout the year in Waterloo Region. Challenging economic times and rising food costs continue to present an obstacle for school nutrition programs already operating on a tight budget. We invite you to directly impact the future of children and youth in Waterloo Region.
