With a thirty-four year history, the Conserver Society of Hamilton & District Inc.(a grass roots education and action organisation on environmental issues), grew out of CHOP (Clear Hamilton of Pollution) which started in 1969. Past activities have included: composting programmes, bicycle paths, reduction of excess packaging, environmental education, and reduction of pesticide use. Board Committees have also participated in regional waste-management, air quality and transportation initiatives. The Society established an Environmental Trust, now known as the Ed Smee Environmental Trust and the Environmentalist of the Year Awards. We invite you to join us in our on-going efforts to protect and enhance the ecosystems of Hamilton and surrounding areas. Note: Single membership is $20.00, family $30.00. If you are joining or renewing your membership, please use the Conserver Society (General Fund) Fund selection. Please enter "membership payment" in the comments section. Thank you!
Founded in 1913, Crescent is an independent school for boys from grades 3 - 12, located on a park-like 30 acre campus in midtown Toronto. Our students are encouraged to strive for excellence, and to develop their talents in the areas of academics, arts and athletics. Faculty and staff alike model Crescent’s core values of respect, responsibility, compassion and honesty as we foster the development of our graduates to men of character from boys of promise.
It is time for Discovery School to take a big step forward. Our vision is of a larger, more well equipped school that will be a resource for children, parents and teachers in Victoria and across Vancouver Island. We want to triple our enrollment to 120 students a year, serve students up till the end of high school, and provide outreach services to parents and teachers across Vancouver Island. To do this, we need more space. Our Discovery School community is very small, so we cannot fund such a large capital investment alone. To achieve our vision of growth, we need your help.
Giant Steps/À Pas de Géant School is the only school focussed exclusively on autism spectrum disorder. It has the largest team of professionals specialized in autism in Quebec, and offers the widest range of therapies under one roof. The School is dedicated to the development of autonomy in each student. A unique multi-disciplinary approach is highly individualized to meet each student's particular needs. Furthermore, the School provides support allowing inclusion within mainstream schools affiliated with the various school boards, a process that reinforces functional autonomy in the child as he ages. Unable to welcome the 600 students on its' waiting list, the Giant Steps/À Pas de Géant School, through its' Resource Center, provides assistance and shares expertise and knowledge with families and schools throughout the City of Montreal, the Laurentians, and the Montérégie. These added services allow the school to provide assistance to a larger community.

The Friends of Algonquin Park was established in 1983 as a non profit registered charity. The Friends operate as a cooperating association under an agreement with the Ontario Parks to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin Park. This is accomplished by developing and reprinting Park-related publications, and funding Park projects through the proceeds from sales at The Friends' two bookstores in the Park, private donations, and various fundraising efforts. The activities of The Friends of Algonquin are coordinated by a volunteer Board of Directors who reside in different parts of Ontario. Since its establishment, The Friends has grown to a membership of over 3000 people, and continues to attract support from around the world.
We raise over $250,000 annually, with most funds coming from the operation of used bookstores, self-serve bookshelves in library branches, and specialty book sales run by volunteers.

We work primarily with men* (18 and over), who have been or may be incarcerated, their families, victims of crime and the community to address the root causes of crime. We offer programs, supports and resources, based on the principles of restorative justice, to our clients at their various stages of invovement with the justice system. Our goal is to empower our clients to take responsibility and be held accountable for the harm their actions have caused - not just to the victims and the community but to themselves as well, so they can become fully engaged contributing members of society.
