We see a need to provide important resources to the general public so they can properly choose trees, plant trees, care for trees, and of course advocate for trees. We hope to encourage a culture of tree advocates and stewards. What We Do Trees offer many critical functions such as shade, pollution reduction, dust reduction, food, increased property value, carbon sequestration, increase in mental and physical health, and more. The Valley has an immediate need for an increased tree canopy; Trees Matter works to alleviate this need by educating the public on tree knowledge, planting trees in schools, and distributing desert adapted shade trees to residents across the Valley.
The Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation works to enhance communities, build partnerships and support conservation in places where great fishing is found. We achieve this by providing targeted grants to directly support priority conservation needs, vital community projects, and educational efforts in international angling designations. The Foundation also provides support for certain events and builds partnerships to leverage funding for specific projects and impact.
The Green Burial Association of Maryland (GBAM) promotes environmentally sustainable Green Burial options throughout Maryland. We support this Mission through public education, promotion of and legislative advocacy for green and hybrid burial grounds, and promoting green practices throughout the funeral industry. We envision a future in which everyone has access to funeral and burial options that are environmentally sustainable and grounded in evidence-based information.
