We inspire people and organizations to value, protect, and improve the Cannon River Watershed’s land and water.

Their mission is to safeguard the Great Lakes, the planet’s largest freshwater lake system and the very lifeblood of the Midwest, by advancing public trust solutions and cutting-edge policy work. Through their targeted policy initiatives, FLOW has built key partnerships with state and regional Great Lakes groups, leveraged their expertise to influence agencies and impact state and federal legislation, and grown to be a trusted source of current information on issues affecting their freshwater seas.

Educational of Nature

The goal of this organization is to teach the youth about the ocean, how it affects our daily lives and how to respect it. It is also to explain the importance of sustainable fishing and how to practice it effectively. We do this by offering free fishing opportunities for underprivileged youth from title 1 schools. We want to help the new generation be able to make a positive impact on society and the environment and to teach them to spread their knowledge to those around them. We hope to inspire young people to practice these methods of sustainability on their own time and overall make the world a better place.

Wild Utah Project provides science-based strategies for wildlife and land conservation

Our mission is to preserve the significant open lands and natural heritage of Colorado through private and public partnerships, innovative land conservation techniques and strategic leadership.

Founded in 1991, the Southwest Environmental Center (SWEC) works to restore and protect native wildlife and their habitats in the southwestern borderlands through public education, grassroots advocacy and on-the-ground restoration projects. We have 4 staff members (3 full-time and 1 part-time), 2 work studies through NMSU and a large cadre of motivated volunteers.

The Santa Fe Conservation Trust partners with our community to keep northern New Mexico’s living lands and people flourishing together. We protect culturally and environmentally significant landscapes, ignite people’s passion for nature and enable the continual regeneration of our healthy place. The Center for Whale Research is dedicated to the study and conservation of the Southern Resident killer whale (orca) population in the Pacific Northwest. Since 1976 the Center for Whale Research (CWR) has been the leading organization studying the Southern Resident killer whales in their critical habitat: the Salish Sea. CWR performs health assessments to ensure the viability of the whale population, informing elected officials of their ecosystem needs, and sharing the whales’ story with the world. Our 43 years of research has created the only long-term data set about the behavior, health, and social dynamics of the Southern Resident killer whales.

Wild Fish Conservancy seeks to improve conditions for all of the Northwest’s wild fish by conducting important research (http://wildfishconservancy.org/about/what-we-do/science/research-and-monitoring/research-and-monitoring) on wild-fish populations and habitats; advocating (http://wildfishconservancy.org/about/what-we-do/advocacy/advocacy) for better land-use, harvest, and hatchery management; and developing model restoration(http://wildfishconservancy.org/about/what-we-do/science/habitat-restoration/test) projects. We are dedicated solely to the needs of wild fish, and don’t represent the interests of any specific user groups.
