OPWSA, established in 1982 has membership of 1000, including individuals with PWS, their families and professionals. We provide a range of resources and supports, including working with families and members to provide information, advocacy, support and education; research & medical program support for the Prader-Willi Clinic at North York General Hospital; residential supports for group homes and other residential placements and programs; and Camp PWS, an annual respite week program at Shadowlake Centre in Stouffville. There are over 20,000 children, youth and young adults in Ontario with a physical disability. Some children were born with disabilities such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida, some have spinal cord or brain injuries resulting from childhood accidents, others sustained brain damage through infections like encephalitis and meningitis. Regardless of the cause, these children share a common desire for independence, acceptance and achievement. Easter Seals Ontario began in 1922 as a vision to create a better life for children and youth with physical disabilities. While the specific programs and services may have changed over the decades, Easter Seals’ dedication to helping kids succeed is unwavering. Track 3 is a volunteer based non profit charitable organization established to teach children and youth with disabilities how to downhill ski and snowboard. We provide the best instruction, care and equipment.This allows them to enjoy the exhilaration of skiing and snowboarding and also to see how much they can achieve and learn, regardless of the challenges life has put in their path. This opportunity builds their self-esteem and confidence which helps and encourages them among their peers. With only three full time staff, substantially all the donated funds are directed to getting the children onto the ski hills. We offer 21 seven week programs at 16 ski hills. We are constantly in need of volunteers and fortunate enough to have over 450 volunteers presently involved in delivering this program to over 200 children and youth.

Operation Eyesight Universal is an international development organization dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness. Since 1963 this organization has brought sight-restoration and blindness-prevention treatment to millions of people in the developing world. Using an innovative model of hospital-based community eye care, Operation Eyesight seeks to bring high-quality, sustainable eye care to people most in need.

Ostomy Toronto is an active, dynamic non-profit organization that exists to meet the needs of persons with an ostomy. We assist in the rehabilitation of individuals who have or will have ostomy surgery through such services as our Trained Visitor Program and our Ostomy Resource Centre. Our monthly chapter meetings may include question and answer sessions hosted by our ET advisor, guest speakers from the medical community, manufacturers’ exhibits, and peer to peer support. We publish a newsletter from September through June which includes helpful information. Ostomy Toronto occasionally hosts satellite meetings in outlying areas such as Barrie and Newmarket. Ostomy Toronto promotes a better public understanding of ostomy related surgery as well as supporting the medical profession. Ostomy Toronto is a chapter of the United Ostomy Association of Canada and is a proud supporter of its annual Youth Camp.

Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, we have a well-established reputation as a leader in safety education. We continually check our environment to identify gaps in safety promotion and seek to meet the need, either through individual effort or with the many health and safety-related organizations throughout Ottawa and Eastern Ontario that we cooperate with. The Ottawa-Carleton Wheelchair Sports Association (OCWSA) is a non-profit organization that was established to encourage participation in the sport of wheelchair basketball throughout eastern Ontario and western Quebec. It supports the initiation and early development of new sport opportunities for persons with a disability. The OCWSA started in 1976 as a wheelchair basketball program at the Royal Ottawa Hospital. Today it is a successful organization operating under a board of directors, elected from its general membership. The association operates competitive and recreational basketball programs to suit the needs and interests of its members. As well, it actively pursues involvement with the community to promote familiarization with wheelchair sports and to educate the public about the abilities and capabilities of persons with a disability.

The Outdoor Recreation Council is a research, education,and advocacy organisation. The Council's members represent the full spectrum of land and water-based recreational activities in the Province. As a respected voice for outdoor recreation in BC, the Council provides information and advice on recreation policy and management practices. We work cooperatively with goverment, industry, and other groups.

Founded in 1985, Peel Children's Centre (PCC) is a fully accredited, not-for-profit community-based children's mental health agency that helps children, youth and their families who are struggling with serious emotional or behavioural difficulties. Each year, PCC provides approximately 6650 treatment services, free of charge, to children and youth who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bullying, physical or sexual abuse, self-harm and more. Our services include coordinated centralized intake, 24/7 crisis support, comprehensive clinical assessments, community-based outreach and court preparation. Individual and group counselling is offered at our offices, in the home, in the school and through our residential and day treatment programs.
