The Kelowna General Hospital Foundation aspires to be a leader in the facilitation and promotion of quality health care by funding innovative and effective programs through the commitment of its members and donors.

For over forty years, The King’s Daughters Dinner Wagon, a not-for-profit agency now known as Meals on Wheels, has been dedicated to providing nutritious meals, daily companionship and comfort with a smile.

As the largest specialized or 'tertiary' centre east of Toronto our programs are aimed at treating people with complex and serious mental illnesses that are often resistant to conventional treatments. In addition to inpatient beds, the majority of these programs feature day treatment options and outreach activities for patients living in the community. Each and every one of us has a personal connection to mental illness given that one out of every five people in Canada is affected. They are our mothers, brothers, colleagues and friends – they are those we know and love and we want to ensure they receive the very best care when they need it. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the work of our volunteers and staff, the Canadian Cancer Society is leading the way in the fight against cancers. The Canadian Cancer Society funds research on all types of cancer, offers comprehensive and credible information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment, and provides support for people living with cancer, family members and friends.

Situated in one of the most diverse communities in the world, The Scarborough Hospital Foundation (TSHF) raises funds for state of the art medical equipment and building projects for The Scarborough Hospital. Since its inception, the Foundation has worked with generous donors, volunteers and community members to raise the funds needed to help save lives, and support our vision to be recognized as Canada’s leader in providing the best healthcare for a global community.

At Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario, volunteers and staff are committed to helping guest families in an atmosphere filled with hope and support, providing much more than just comfortable and affordable accommodation. While the cost to the House of accommodating a family for one night is more than $75, families are asked to contribute just $10 a night. No family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay. Keeping things so affordable certainly goes a long way toward helping to ease the financial stress of families who discover they must be in the core of a major urban centre for what could be many weeks or months. Imagine the cost of a hotel room and many other daily living expenses incurred, while mortgage or rent and car payments continue to mount up back home. Our extensive services - which include seasonal events, family dinners, laundry, computer and internet access – ensure that all members of the family are supported during an extremely stressful time.

Guelph Food Bank was established by Spiritwind Christian Centre in 1989. Food Bank clients vary in age, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, but they have one thing in common they are all faced with financial hardship. Guelph Food Bank offers help to its clients through: Food Programs - Hamper Program, Perishable Excess Program, Community and Disaster Relief Program Help With Skills - Budget and Debt Counceling, Life Skills Help, Support Refferals and Advocacy Job And Placement Programs - Individual Refferals, Direction for Retraining, Peer Work Programs,Community Service Programs Other Supports and Programs - Clothing Exchange, Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program, Special Events, Garage Sale & Silent Auctions, Community Awareness, Zehrs Tape Collection, Think-Food Inkjet & Cell Phone Recycling Program, Local Sports Subsidy Screening, Family Councelling

The South Muskoka Hospital Foundation is the fundraising organization for Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site). Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta is one of 12 Houses across Canada and one of 254 around the world. The Southern Alberta House is a non-profit organization owned and operated by the Southern Alberta Pediatric Hostel Society.

The Stop’s work is based on the belief that food is a basic human right. Each year over 14,000 people access our centre for food, social support and advocacy. Although not often attracting the kind of attention it deserves, the hunger crisis in Toronto is severe. A recent study of our food bank members showed that 51% of them go hungry at least once a week. This inability to consistently access food translates into problems such as poor health and social isolation -- issues that ultimately affect us all as a society. While The Stop is probably best known for its food bank, we also run breakfast and lunch programs, offer pre- and postnatal nutrition and support, facilitate group cooking classes and grow food in a local park and greenhouse for many of our programs. The Stop is a vibrant place that is a well-respected leader in the food security sector.

St. Mary’s General Hospital is an adult acute-care facility.As a 191-bed community hospital, we embrace progress and change while maintaining our commitment to the mission and vision of our founder’s. We offer a full range of patient services that focus on enhanced patient care and the health care needs of our community. We are home to the Regional Cardiac Care Centre and also offer emergency medicine, spiritual care, counselling, and treatment of sexual assault and domestic violence. Approximately 87% of surgeries done at St. Mary's are performed on a same-day basis using the most advanced minimally-invasive techniques. By investing in St. Mary’s, you can support the development of a healthier community. We now perform over 32,000 surgeries per year. Our medical staff continue to bring the gifts of hope and healing to your family, your neighbours and your friends.

A strong community needs great health care close to home. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the Foundation supports the Health Centre’s remarkable physicians and staff as they take care of our community. Donations support facility renovations to our patient care areas. For example, support from donors helped build a new wing that opened in 2012. Donors also help purchase essential medical equipment, like a new endo-bronchial ultrasound that pinpoints lung cancer, and funds training for our dedicated health care professionals. Current priorities include renovating our patient spaces like lounges and waiting areas to make the more comfortable for patients and families; building a new Dialysis Centre; and building and equipping two new Interventional Suites in our Diagnostic Imaging department.
