About Us: Our Bridgeport club was founded in 1992, and is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas which was founded in 1921. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. A 501(c)(3) organization, Soroptimist relies on charitable contributions to fund its programs. Local members join with almost 100,000 Soroptimists in more than120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women. Soroptimist International has consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council, which oversees U.N. activities promoting human rights. In addition to sponsoring the awards programs, our club has participated in community programs focused on various health and human service issues for women and girls, such as the Center for Women and Families, Mi Casa/My Home, Women and Men’s Health Project, Project Courage, and Local Soup Kitchens. The organization seeks to improve the quality of life of women and their families living in the rural areas of Maharashtra & Karnataka. Our primary objective is to empower rural women and fight injustices based on gender, caste and class. Our programs are designed to improve our clients' quality of life by promoting education, health, property rights, leadership and technology.

MissionOperation of Hope Worldwide (formally Operacion Esperanza since 1989) is a volunteer medical team that has changed the lives of over 5,000 children around the world...and counting. Each year, we traveling to developing countries to perform cleft lip and palate surgeries, as well as, other types of facial reconstructive surgery for people in need. In addition, this group of highly specialized medical personnel, train the nurses and doctors in these countries to provide care for their patients. Our work has expanded to neonatal care, prosthetic hands and burn surgeries in Africa, Asia, South Pacific and Latin America. Our goal is to provide additional experience for physicians who are specializing in these types of surgery.

The Habitat International Coalition (HIC) is the global network for rights related to habitat. Pelita Indonesia was founded in 2003 as a social organization engaged in community development projects that will increase the overall health and welfare of West Java citizens. Through our organization our vision is to empower the underprivileged people of Indonesia so that they can escape the confines of poverty and have a long healthy life, which will in turn affect the entire community. Pelita Indonesia carries out our mission stated above in three main initiatives. Provide clean water solutions, provide healthcare assistance for TB patients and participate in disaster relief efforts. We operate a factory where we produce ceramic water filters. These filters are inexpensive and produce clean and safe drinking water for Indonesians in need. We provide these filters at no cost to the recipients. Pelita indonesia's health team is focused on providing care, counseling and help to Indonesians with Tuberculosis that do not have adequate access to the healthcare they need. We work in partnership with the Indonesian government in providing this care at no cost to the patients. Pelita Indonesia also provides a variety of disaster relief help for communities and individuals affected by floods, landslides, earthquakes, and tsunamis. We are local, so we can be on the ground quickly providing essential immediate needs. We also are committed to and equipped to assist in long-term needs of the victims of disaster.

SYS (Support Yemeni Society) Organization seeks to provide distinctive and effective contributions to the Yemeni people in need through inclusive humanitarian and developmental projects that maintain human dignity.

Kadiatu A Mother's Love Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and financial resources to underserved women and children in Sierra Leone, helping them to break the cycle of poverty. We believe that access to education is the key to lifting people out of poverty and empowering them to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities
