Hospice Renfrew provides end-of-life care to people who are experiencing life-threatening or terminal illness. This small, comfortable, home-like palliative care residence serves individuals and families throughout Renfrew County and the surrounding area. Hospice Renfrew provides 24-hour nursing care, with physician support, at no cost to the patient in an inclusive setting where family and friends can be an integral part of the care.
The Alzheimer Society Niagara Foundation was launched in June of 2006 and is now the fundraising arm that funds the programs and services of the Alzheimer Society. It will ensure the future viability of specialized dementia care services, especially with the ever-changing climate of health care and the competition for resources. It offers several satisfying and effective philanthropic options that will make the most of donated dollars as well as offer taxation benefits to the donor. The objectives of GIST Sarcoma Life Raft Group, Canada are: • To increase awareness of GIST among the general public and among health care professionals. • To provide workshops and seminars related to GIST and its treatment. • To advocate for access to medical treatment for GIST patients across Canada. • To establish support groups for those in Canada who are affected by GIST. • To support, within Canada, activities of research, scholarship, publication and education related to GIST.

MSF strives to respond rapidly and effectively to public health emergencies with complete independence from political, economic or religious powers. In 1999, MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its pioneering humanitarian work: rapid interventions, calling public attention to humanitarian catastrophies, respecting fellow humans’ dignity and acting as a source of hope for peace and reconciliation.
The Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice provides dignity, compassion, comfort and support to citizens of Greater Hamilton, Ontario who are facing a life-ending disease or condition, and their families. Support is available from the time of diagnosis through bereavement. Our interdisciplinary team of specially trained volunteers and professionals provide social, physical, emotional and spiritual support. Care is provided in home, in hospital, or in long term care. In June 2007, we will also be able to provide care in our residential beds, Hamilton's first residential hospice beds. Support is provided through a number of programs: Visiting support; Day Respite; Bereavement for adults and children; resources; and, advocacy.
Hospice Simcoe provides for the needs of people in Simcoe County who are dying, who have dying family members or who are bereaved. We provide high quality Hospice Palliative Care from the time of diagnosis with a life limiting illness through death and bereavement. Our programs include Visiting Hospice, Residential Hospice and Bereavement Support. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people who are dying and their family members.
Look Good Feel Better At the heart of Look Good Feel Better is the free, two-hour hands-on workshop offered at 120 cancer care facilities and hospitals across the country. The workshop brings together women with cancer in a safe and supportive environment where they benefit from shared experiences and learn how to look and feel more like themselves again. Facing Cancer Together The Facing Cancer Together program offers a cancer support network and provides information, resources and tools to help women – and those who care about them – manage the social and emotional effects of cancer. The first initiative of the Facing Cancer Together program is an online community for women. Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, North America’s first free standing children’s hospice, is a recognized global leader in specialized pediatric palliative care. Canuck Place offers a comprehensive continuum of care to over 350 children and teens with life-threatening illnesses and their families throughout British Columbia. The program is unique in that it offers world-class health care within a home-like environment. With comfortable surroundings, personalized programs, caring professional staff and dedicated volunteers, it is a place for children and families to come in their time of need. Services include 24/7 physician and nursing support, end-of-life care, pain and symptom management, respite care, school, music and play therapy, recreation opportunities and counseling. Alzheimer Society Peel offers counselling, support groups, day programs, wandering person registry (Safely HomeTM), resource centres, education and much more. Our programs and services are available throughout Peel Region through our offices in Brampton, Meadowvale and Port Credit. You do not need a diagnosis or a referral to access our services.
