CAPE BRETON COMMUNITY HOUSING ASSOCIATION

Established in 1977, Cape Breton Community Housing Association (CBCHA) is a non-profit community based agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. CBCHA offers a range of residential and vocational supports for individuals requiring assistance in developing the necessary skills to enable them to achieve independence. Our program currently consists of a Residential Program, Independent Living Support Program and a Community Outreach Program. Together, clients of these programs learn to combat loneliness, support each other through their ups and downs, and establish friendships through positive social interaction with one another and within the community. It is within this setting that clients learn to rely on their own personal resources, as well as, utilizing the resources of the staff, other clients, and the community at large.

GOSHEN RENEWAL MINISTRIES

Our Charity ran a fifty bed Men's Hostel and a community drop-in "Harvest Time Cafe" that ran seven nights a week feeding up to one hundred homeless. One of the most important things we do is to try and restore the dignity of each person who comes through our doors, assuring them that their life has merit. We lost the use of our building in downtown Toronto, and are now creating a new home in the country side near Hamilton, Cambridge and Guelph. This will provide a place of refreshment, renewal, and restoration to the glory of God.

NORTH YORK GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Thank you for embracing the health of our community. Your support allows us to sustain our ability to better serve you and your family. With generosity of people like you, our Foundation last year raised $10.6 million. Our fundraising efforts were focused on a number of projects: the Gulshan and Pyarali G. Nanji Orthopaedic and Plastics Centre; revitalizing the Centre for Medical Imaging and more. We funded new medical equipment and provided program support throughout the Hospital. Looking forward our priorities are the completion of fundraising for the $7.4 million Centre for Medical Imaging; enhancing care provided to the children in our community; improving our capacity to use technology and innovation to provide patient care; and investing in teaching the next generation of health professionals. All gifts to the Foundation are dedicated to benefiting health care programs of the Hospital. Foundation does not receive operating funding from the government or hospital.
