Victoria Hospice is a registered charity that has, since 1980, provided end-of-life care focused on palliative treatment. Our nurses, counsellors, spiritual caregivers, physicians and trained volunteers provide comfort for the patient and support for the family, rather than a cure for progressive and life-limiting illness. Care is offered in patients’ homes, within our 17-bed in-patient unit, and as specific medical consultation to patients in other health care facilities. Over 300 trained volunteers provide companionship and support. Victoria Hospice offers bereavement support to families for up to one year following a death. Roughly 50% of Victoria Hospice's annual operating costs are not covered by our health care system, and must be funded through community donations to our Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation.

Located at Equidae Stables, 6362 Bank Street in Greely, TROtt has been serving a wide range of riders with mental, physical and emotional conditions for more than 25 years. Riders with a varied range of conditions can participate in the TROtt program e.g. cerebral palsy, spina bifida, stroke, head injuries, multiple sclerosis, visual impairments and mental difficulties. TROtt operates from March to December, using indoor and outdoor facilities. Lessons are scheduled during the day, evenings and Saturdays

Hospice Peterborough provides information, practical help, and emotional support to people living with a life-threatening illness, caregivers and people of all ages dealing with the death of an important person. Lending library with Internet access, educational events related to palliative care, individual and group support by professional staff and trained volunteers.

As the recognized fundraiser for the Stollery Children’s Hospital, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is committed to enhancing health services for children. More than 210,000 patient visits happen at the Stollery Children’s Hospital each year…and that number is growing. Children who benefit from the Stollery’s services come not only from Edmonton, but also northern Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut. Much of the work done at the Stollery Children’s Hospital is leading edge – literally the difference between life and death. Community support is crucial if we are to maintain this level of advanced care. Donations to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation will help to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, support research to provide cures and treatments for childhood diseases, fund specialized pediatric health services & programs and recruit nationally and internationally renowned scientists and doctors.

We provide caring, community-based support programs like supportive and independent living, homeless outreach, recreation, suicide bereavement support, and peer support programs for families and individuals. As well, we work closely with other community organizations to bridge gaps in the mental health care system and facilitate access to important services and resources. One in five people experience a mental disorder in their lifetimes and most of us know someone who has faced a mental health challenge or concern. The Société Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin is a charitable, non-profit agency. Our goals include maintaining the client with Alzheimer's disease in the community, to provide respite to the caregiver of the client with Alzheimer's disease, to teach, train and counsel Alzheimer caregivers, to provide education, resources and awareness of Alzheimer's disease in the community and to advocate on behalf of Alzheimer clients and their families with government and local agencies.

While government funding does cover your stay, much of the equipment, technology and even things like hospital beds, wheelchairs and furniture are funded by the generosity of individuals in the community. Giving to RVH makes a difference in the health care available to the entire region of Simcoe-Muskoka. The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba is a self-help, peer support organization, offering on-site and phone peer support, education, and support groups to people living with mood disorders and their family, friends and loved ones. We also provdie on-site education for any persons, organizations, employers etc. who wish to know more about mood disorders, what they are, how they are treated, and how to assist persons with these disorders.

It is our mission to support and educate couples suffering from infertility so that they can make dignified choices as they proceed on their journey. We have a 1-800 support line, publish the only Canadian quarterly magazine about infertility, have our own website which displays a wealth of information and a patient forum. We also have 30 volunteer Chapter Leaders who are operating support groups from coast to coast and we have public service announcements being aired on the radio from coast to coast.

The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is a charitable organization with 5 key service points and 3 light service points in Alberta and Northwest Territories. We do not receive any ongoing(core) government funding, and close to 70% of our revenue comes thanks to individual donors, with another 20% coming from our valued corporate partners. Another 10% revenue comes from interest and the occasional government grant or casino revenue. WHAT WE DO: Our programs and services are offered throughout Alberta and into the Northwest Territories. We also fund research into the causes and the cure for Alzheimer disease. We provide information and publications, deliver public education forums, provide personal and confidential consultations, and coordinate various support groups across the province to those affected by dementia, their family and caregivers. Onsite information sessions at places of employment are also offered in the community.
