The mission of The Children's Village is to work in partnership with families to help society's most vulnerable children so that they become educationally proficient, economically productive, and socially responsible members of their communities.

Despite significant reductions across the nation, tobacco use is still the number one cause of preventable death in the United States, killing more than 400,000 people every year. Since being established in 1999, the American Legacy Foundation (Legacy) has developed a comprehensive understanding of the tobacco crisis and the many issues that surround it. Legacy is the nation's largest and most effective independent public health charity dedicated to tobacco use prevention and smoking cessation. Our mission is to build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. By giving young people the facts and information they need to reject tobacco and adult smokers the tools they need to quit and stay quit, Legacy is helping people live longer, healthier lives. Legacy employs community intervention and population-based public education strategies to reach current and potential tobacco users, customizing our approach to recognize, respect and address cultural differences.

HCN's Mission is to decrease the trauma of homelessness and domestic violence,as well as to increase the strength and effectiveness of the HCN Collaborative. Homeless children and families are referred by HCN's collaborative of nineteen Emergency, Transitional, and Domestic Violence Shelters. Member shelters include: Hamilton Family Center, Hamilton Emergency Shelter, Hamilton Transitional Program, Asian Women's Shelter, Raphael House, Riley Center (Rosalie House and Brennan House), Richmond Hills Family Center, Tenderloin Childcare Center, St. Joseph's Village, Richmond Hills Family Center, Salvation Army-Harbor House, La Casa de las Madres, Homeless Prenatal Program, Connecting Point, DrawBridge, A Home Away From Homelessness, Families in SRO's Collaborative, Treasure Island Homeless Development Initiative (TIHDI) and Treasure Island Elementary School.

La Casa de las Madres was founded in 1976 by a group of Bay Area women, most of whom had experienced domestic violence as victims or as daughters of abused mothers. Deeply motivated by the death of her mother, one of the founders set forth to establish a place where women could seek refuge from domestic violence; where they would be safe, cared for, and allowed to regain physical strength and self-esteem. Their refuge would be named La Casa de las Madres--The Home of the Mothers. Today, La Casa offers emergency shelter to women and their children while providing advocacy, counseling, family-based services and referrals. Our downtown office houses our two 24-hour crisis lines, Drop-In Counseling Center, Teen Intervention and Prevention Program, and Community Education and Outreach Program as well as our administration.

The Headstrong Project is a non-profit mental health organization providing confidential, barrier-free, and stigma-free PTSD treatment to our service members, veterans, and family connected to their care. Our goal is to help our clients “Triumph Over Trauma” by providing them with effective mental health treatment. The mission of the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law is to protect and advance the rights of adults and children who have mental disabilities. The Center envisions an America where people who have mental illnesses or developmental disabilities exercise their own life choices and have access to the resources that enable them to participate fully in their communities.

The mission of Mental Health Advocacy Services is to protect and advance the legal rights of children and adults with mental disabilities, in order to maximize autonomy, promote equality, and secure the resources needed to thrive in the community. MHAS accomplishes its mission by providing free legal services with an emphasis on obtaining benefits and services, protecting rights and fighting discrimination.

The New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and support survivors through counseling and advocacy.

Next Door Solutions’ (NDS) mission is to end domestic violence in the moment… and for all time by helping survivors rebuild their lives. NDS serves women and children who are financially, ethnically and linguistically diverse: • Crisis Services: 24/7 Emergency Shelter and Hotline – women and children receive safe haven from abuse, and safety planning and other supportive services; callers seeking crisis counseling, vital information and referrals receive an immediate live voice response by a highly trained bilingual English/Spanish Advocate. • Community and Systems Advocacy - clients receive peer counseling, safety plan development, legal advocacy, and assurance and comfort. • Support Groups - Women connect and create a healing environment for each other through 16 groups throughout the county • Self-Sufficiency Program – women empower themselves and enhance their financial independence and self-sufficiency through comprehensive, compassionate, woman-defined case management, workshops in financial literacy, job readiness, and educational advancement, and permanent housing.

MEDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating. MEDA's mission is to prevent the continuing spread of eating disorders through educational awareness and early detection. MEDA serves as a support network and resource for clients, loved ones, clinicians, educators, and the general public.
