Daya supports South Asian women, their children and families who are trying to break the cycle of domestic and sexual violence and reclaim their lives. Daya empowers these women by offering counseling and advocacy, promoting community awareness, and by advocating at the policy level. The primary purpose of the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery is to provide a safe haven for children, birth through age 12, thereby preventing child abuse and neglect, and to support the needs of families. Children are cared for in the Nursery for any situation that may jeopardize their health and safety, including: parental stress, domestic violence, homelessness, and other family crises. The Crisis Nursery services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at five locations throughout the St. Louis and St. Charles' regions and are free of charge.
