At Listen and Talk, our mission is to teach children who are deaf or hard of hearing to communicate and learn through listening and spoken language. With the aid of advanced hearing technology and committed families involved in specialized programs provided by Listen and Talk, almost all children with hearing loss can learn to listen and use spoken language, allowing them to fully participate in a hearing world. Listen and Talk achieves these remarkable results by combining proven auditory-based educational methods with the use of advanced hearing technology including: digital/programmable hearing aids, cochlear implants, personal FM systems, and sound field systems for classrooms. For optimal success, we strive to apply our teaching methods to children in infancy-as soon as they are identified with hearing loss. Most Listen and Talk "graduates": Enter their neighborhood school by kindergarten, Learn and compete side-by-side with peers in regular classrooms, Converse and learn through spoken and written language, Reach their full language and learning potential and fully integrate into the wider community. Lifelong goals for each child include: The ability to learn and gain information through listening,the ability to effectively communicate without the need for an interpreter, the ability to think and reason independently, the use of age-appropriate literacy skills for communication, learning and enjoyment, intelligible speech, problem solving skills, and social engagement.
The China California Heart Watch brings together experts from the United States, China, and around the world. Together, we use innovative and sustainable methods to combat the growing epidemic of heart disease in Yunnan Province, China. Our overarching mission is to serve the people of Yunnan through: (1) Training local healthcare professionals in the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease; (2) Improving access to high-quality healthcare and life-saving treatments; (3) Researching the epidemiology of heart disease, the effectiveness of our interventions, and other topics of critical value to rural Chinese populations. The activities of the China California Heart Watch generate no profits. We operate solely through the generosity and vision of our donors, foundations, and granting agencies. A free and democratic press willing to explore the role of religion as an essential part of public life is one of the founding principles of The Media Project. The mission of 501c(3) organization includes helping journalists develop the skills needed to engage in an intellectually honest and critical approach to subjects related to religion, ethics and values to enrich and deepen coverage of religion -- regardless of the reporter's personal faith. Since it's founding, The Media Project has developed a worldwide network of journalists who often submit ideas for conferences and workshops most needed in the countries in which they live and work. The programs are open to journalists of all faith traditions.
Washington state ranks among the top states in the nation in the concentration of STEM jobs, and opportunities are increasing rapidly. By 2030, 70% of high-demand, family-sustaining wage jobs available in our state will require postsecondary degree credentials; 67% of those will require postsecondary STEM credentials. But Washington students are not equitably or adequately prepared to take advantage of these opportunities. Today, only 40% of all students are on track to attain postsecondary credential. Worse yet, students of color, rural students, girls and young women, and students living in poverty still lack access to these pathways—they face disparities early on and fall further behind as they move through the education system. In our state STEM is at the forefront of discovery, on the frontlines of creative 21st century problem-solving, and serves as one of the largest pathways to family-sustaining wage careers and long-term economic security. STEM pathways have promise like few others in Washington and it is imperative that Black, Brown, and indigenous students, rural and low-income students, and girls have access. Washington STEM is working to ensure that all students have equal opportunity to benefit from the transformational possibilities that STEM has to offer.
The Global Give Back Circle integrates Mentoring, Private Sector Engagement and Government and Local Community Support in a 'Circle of Empowerment' that guides an at-risk girl to complete her educational journey, gain employable skills, transition into the workplace and embrace the joys of Citizenship through Giving Back.

We pledge: to establish contacts and facilitate networking and linkages among individuals, organizations, and agencies, both non-government and government, concerned with street children in the Philippines and throughout the Asia region; to facilitate advocacy, social mobilization, research, training, technical assistance, and program support activities at the national and regional levels; and to maintain a databank of information on street children and exploited children (research studies, programs and services, resource groups and individuals).
Apps for Good works to power a generation to change their world with technology. We want to transform education to help young people become tech creators and digital makers, so that they can thrive in a tech driven future. We achieve this by working with teachers to create a new kind of learning - one that's rooted in real world learning and driven by the students themselves. While doing the Apps for Good course students move through the full product development cycle of an app, from concept to coding to launch and in doing so learn how to solve real world problems with technology.
