EPILEPSY AND SEIZURE ASSOCIATION OF MANITOBA

Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba provides information, education, support groups (Winnipeg and Brandon), and one to one information sessions to people living with epilepsy/seizures and their families. We provide a newsletter. We believe that interacting with people at the grassroots level is just as important as the research towards a cure for epilepsy. We are available for presentations at schools, businesses, staff training, senior centres, on an as-requested bases throughout the province of Manitoba. A cure may be found tomorrow, but someone needs your help today.

Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County is a non-profit organization offering professional counselling services and education. Our services are available to everyone living or working in Simcoe County regardless of age, ability, cultural or religious background, race, sexual orientation or gender identity. Did you know that we are the only family service agency in the county that doesn’t have admission criteria related to a particular diagnosis? Thanks to your support we serve over 2 thousand clients each year. That’s equal to over 5.9 thousand hours of direct service to individuals, couples and families in our community who we rely on us for help. We would like to publicly thank donors who make significant contributions to our organization, by featuring their names and/or logos on our website and in our Annual Report. Donors that prefer to not be publicly recognized need to let us know.

The United Church of Canada

The United Church of Canada is Canada's largest Protestant denomination, with over 2 million Canadians who identified their religion as United Church. The purpose of the United Church is to Serve God by ministering to the spiritual and material needs of our members, communities, nation, and the world. Within Canada, the United Church provides directions for mission through the development of plans and strategies for Christian education, worship and church structuring, and by giving leadership on public, evangelical, moral, and justice issues. We provide financial support to some congregations, outreach ministries, and other identified mission activities. Outside of Canada, we work with partner churches and other Christian and community agencies to serve the spiritual and material needs of people in the various countries where we have established partnerships through the sharing of personnel and financial resources.

Food Bank and Soup Kitchen

FOOD BANK-We give out food 3 mornings a week. People receive food for at least three days once a month. We have over 500 family units receiving food each month. Soup Kitchen-We serve meals 7 days a week.2 meals/day during the week and one/day on weekends. We average 65 people a meal.

WOMEN'S HOUSE SERVING BRUCE & GREY

Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey is a local non-profit organization that provides safe shelter and services to women 16 years of age and older, and their children, who have or are experiencing abuse, sexual violence and homelessness. Our Sexual Assault Services office is in Owen Sound, ON and the physical shelter and business office is in Kincardine, ON. Our Second Stage Housing Units are in Port Elgin, ON, Wiarton, ON and Kincardine, ON. All areas mentioned provide a safe environment for women and children for counselling, housing, group programs and transitional education.
