ACSA addresses a variety of issues including systemic poverty, hunger, housing, homelessness, unemployment, accessibility and social isolation. Over the years ACSA has been funded by all levels of government, several foundations, schools, local faith communities, and The United Way of Greater Toronto. Its strength remains in the original concept: To act as a bridge between people who need help and those who can provide it. For nearly 35 years the backbone of the organization has been the army of volunteers who help run an array of programs. While the original concept has remained the same, some of the methods have changed: more and more ACSA helps people to help themselves by providing ‘hand up’ programs rather than ‘hand out’ programs. Programs have also changed to reflect the ever-changing community needs. Community Engagement enables entire neighborhoods to work together to identify common issues of concern and to address them as a community.

Community Links is a non-profit charitable organization that provides services and programs to individuals from birth to seniors throughout the North Rocky View Region including Airdrie, Beiseker, Crossfield, Irricana, and the surrounding North Rocky View County. Our agency has three principle services; Counselling, Family Resource and Community Development. Each department has an outreach component serving those with barriers who are unable to attend either the Airdrie or Beiseker office. The agency’s Vision of Strong Individuals Strong Families Strong Communities is a testament to our belief that together we can help make a positive difference in the community. Our purpose is to serve and promote the welfare of people in the North Rocky View community and to ensure that all people have access to services, resources, and opportunities they require to promote their well being.

The Edmonton Alano Club is a facility to support the sobriety of alcoholics and others in recovery by providing them, as well as families and friends, with a safe and well-kept environment that is alcohol and drug-free. It is a place to attend and share at meetings, socialize in the cafe area, and share in the common room

At Alternatives for Women we provide non-judgemental, supportive counselling from a femininst perspective. We advocate on behalf of women and children and we provide public education about the issuses that concern women who have experienced domestic violence. All of our counselling services are free and confidential.

The Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent provides the following services: Counselling for those affected by Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. Cognitive Testing. Support Groups to share experiences and learn new coping strategies. Day programs provide a safe and stimulating environment for those affected by Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. An In-Home Respite Care Program. Education Programs to raise public awareness and to assist those involved in caregiving.

The Alzheimer Society of Toronto is dedicated to enhancing the lives of persons with dementia, their families and their caregivers, by providing support, information and education at all stages of the disease, and by funding research and advocating for better dementia care services. Founded in 1984, the mission of the Alzheimer Society of Kitchener-Waterloo is to improve the quality of life of people with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and their caregivers. The Alzheimer Society is the leading not-for-profit organization working nationwide to improve the quality of life for Canadians affected by Alzheimer's disease and advance the search for the cause and cure. Help for today is provided through family support and education programs that include one-to-one and family counseling, support groups, and outreach programs such as caregiver respite, public awareness, and advocacy. Hope for tomorrow is provided by supporting ongoing research towards advances in detection, diagnosis, treatment and a cure.

Currently, more than 20,000 Manitobans are diagnosed and one person out of every three is personally affected. The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba provides valuable programs and services for people affected by dementia, while funding research to help find a cure. The Society offers supportive counselling; caregiver education; support groups for people with dementia and for their caregivers; professional education; public awareness; the MedicAlert® Safely Home program; the First Link® program and more. The Alzheimer Society also plays an important role in advocating for change within our local, provincial and federal governments. By working to influence programs and services which directly impact people affected, the Society helps enhance the quality of life for people living with a diagnosis and the people who care for them.

Each year, our professional counsellors provide over 10,000 hours of direct counselling during home visits for our more than 1000 clients and their caregivers and families across the Niagara region. We offer assessments, individual & family counselling ,coping strategies, behavioural interventions, and information regarding appropriate resources. Referrals can be made by family members, health care professionals, anyone concerned about a member of the community. The Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region continues to grow to meet the increasing need for service. This growth would be impossible without the generous donations from individuals, corporations, members, and fundraising events along with partial Ministry funding. The Anchor Association serves adults with a developmental disability. At this moment we serve 28 residents who reside in 4 group homes in southern Ontario.

The Annapolis Valley Regional Library offers free public library service through 11 branch libraries, a Bookmobile, and Books By Mail. Ebooks and other e-resources are available through the library website www.valleylibrary.ca
