Over 45,000 children were reported missing in Canada in 2011. That’s one child every 11 minutes. When a child first goes missing, the police, the media and the community all rally together to help the terrified and anxious family search for their child, but as time goes by, that involvement inevitably decreases. It is for these families that the Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC) was established in 1986. Our unique and comprehensive programs serve families in the critical hours after a child goes missing and provide ongoing support until the child is found, investigative programs that assist police and searching families, mental health programs that help families deal with the emotional consequences of a missing child, and critical awareness generating campaigns that allow us to provide essential support for searching families. We are 100% funded by donations. And we provide our services at no cost to families.

For over 60 years, Community Living Toronto has provided programs and support to people with an intellectual disability and their families. We believe that people with an intellectual disability should be part of the community no matter how unique or special their needs. Our programs and supports provide opportunities that enhance personal growth, experience, satisfaction and self-esteem. Being included the in community means something different for everyone, whether it's in the daycare, classroom, workplace or neighbourhood, and Community Living Toronto staff ensure that each person's individual goals are central to their support plan.

Scouting has an important role in the lives of today’s youth. Scouting promotes the importance of values such as integrity, honesty, responsibility, patriotism, courtesy, perseverance, cooperation, tolerance, teamwork, leadership and respect for community, nature and spirituality. In the 2008-2009 Scouting year, for the first time in a quarter of a century, membership in Scouting across Canada has increased. We are working hard so that more youth have the opportunity to benefit from a Scouting experience. As the organization grows, more and more youth in need of financial assistance are identified.

Scarborough Women's Centre provides information, education and support to women in transition away from abuse, isolation and poverty, towards economic and emotional independence. The Centre was recognized with the City of Toronto Mayor's Community Safety Award for its work with abused women and their children. Women from many different backgrounds, enrich each other through their experiences. Here are some examples of what your donation can do: $50 - one woman builds her self confidence through an 8 week group $150 - 12 women learn to improve their health through a special workshop $200 -two volunteers train as mentors with women in transition $500.00 – one woman supported to achieve her goal to leave abuse through 3 months of counselling $1,000 - 20 women develop personal strategies for success through an 8 week course The Centre raises 1/2 of its income from fundraising activities. The Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton is launching a fundraising campaign to better serve the city's growing number of sexual assault survivors. We currently provide individual and group counselling services to child and adult survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault at no cost to clients. We also do community outreach and education, staff a 24 hour crisis line and provide specialized treatment services for new Canadians who have experienced war rape in their country of origin. The online campaign asks for donations in exchange for sending a “candle of hope” to a friend. We appreciate your support. Light a candle in the darkness. Dare to be aware.

Founded in 1941 by the Rev. Morris and Annie Zeidman, The Scott Mission is a non-denominational Christian organization responding to the needs of the poor, homeless abandoned and vulnerable of all ages. Based in Toronto, the Mission offers practical, emotional and spiritual support for thousands of people each year. Among other services, the Mission offers daily hot meals, a low-cost daycare, a summer camp for children and youth, free good-quality clothing, groceries, shower and laundry facilites for the homeless, an overnight program, shelter, an after-school program and friendly visitation and retreats for shut-ins. While religious belief and practice are never conditions for receiving help and assistance, and everyone is welcome regardless of faith background, The Scott Mission is committed to the spiritual well-being of all people through the life and witness of Jesus Christ.

Sistering is a non-profit charitable organization which provides a safe and welcoming environment where women receive practical and emotional supports such as, a daily hot meal; showers and laundry facilities; clothing; access to health care professionals; informal counseling, support groups and other program activities; housing services; pre-employment programs, and referrals to appropriate agencies. These supports enable women to take greater control of their lives.

The Alzheimer Society of Ontario’s Today’s Help, Tomorrow’s Cure Campaign is reaching out to the almost 150,000 Ontarians who have Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD). By 2031 that number will increase by nearly 127%. That means that we will be caring for over 175,000 cases in 2010 and by 2031 there will be over 340,000 cases in the province. Our goal is to help persons with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias, their families and caregivers today, while engaging in research to put an end to this devastating disease. With your support we fund nationwide research to address the psychological and social aspects of AD such as care giving, family support and long-term care as well as biomedical investigations to find causes and treatments. The Alzheimer Society of Ontario helps local chapters deliver services by providing consultation as well as financial and educational support. In addition, we assist in program development, fundraising and supportive public policy.

The Actors' Fund of Canada is a registered charity that provides short-term financial aid to entertainment industry professionals working in theatre, film & TV, music and dance. Performers, creators, technical staff and other production team members can apply for help from the Fund which delivered over $460,000 in rent payments, grocery money, utility payments and other basic living expenses to clients in the last 12 months and over $4.5 million in the last 10 years. The Actors' Fund receives no government funding and is wholly sustained by support from individuals and entertainment industry organizations.
