Lifting Hands is a center for learning and motivation that impoverished community members can call home. It is a place volunteers share their time, expertise and experience with community members of all ages, developing strong bonds of friendship based on God's love.

YOUTH FOR CHRIST - GENERAL OVERVIEW The NGO Youth for Christ in Montevideo, Uruguay. Youth for Christ is an autonomous, non-profit organization. Since it began 40 years ago, Youth for Christ has worked actively to come along side marginalized population in Uruguay through formal programs. Our action is oriented primarily toward children, adolescents, young people and their families on three levels of intervention: - Personal (seeking holistic development) - Within the family and community (work to strengthen families, develop local networks, and encourage participation) - Political and structural (participate in constructing Social Policies and effective methods of intervention) In 1989, we began to work formally with the State and formed the Civil Society Organization Youth for Christ, Uruguay. Since then we have operated collectively with State organisms, International Organisms, and a wide variety of NGOs (non-government organizations) that work in the country. In Youth for Christ we run politically as a civil society organization. The General Assembly of partners is the sovereign body, which appoints a Board of Directors. This Board operates on an honorary basis and has a predetermined term of service. Youth for Christ works with a clear north, challenging but possible with Jesus Christ, which we express with simplicity in our mission: - Promote a culture in tune with the gospel and its values of justice, peace, solidarity, tolerance, love, and respect for the diversity. - For part of the Youth for Christ International family, adhering to the shared vision and mission of the organization.

The purposes for which it is formed are to support charitable, educational, cultural, environmental, civic and cultural activities and projects of benefit to the residents of San Ramon, Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Our vision is to realize a future where all inhabitants of the Costa Rican coasts, human and sea turtle alike, can live together in balance; where healthy populations of sea turtles fulfill their ecological roles and economic potential; and critical natural habitats are sustainably managed. En el 2013 a partir del crecimiento de los eventos TEDxPuraVidaJoven, en donde se reune a mas de 20 000 personas en Costa Rica, con ideas excepcionales para compartir y cambiar nuestro mundo; el equipo organizador identifico una oportunidad para fomentar formalmente esas ideas y transformarlas en iniciativas reales. Nuestro maximo objetivo es contribuir al desarrollo sostenible en Costa Rica y la region, y lo logramos trabajando en conjunto con nuestra comunidad para identificar buenas ideas y convertirlas en acciones, de ahi nuestro lema: "Innovacion colaborativa". ------------ Collaborate with us for social innovation in Costa Rica. We are a collaborative community that identifies, executes and spreads social innovation projects with high potential of replicability, scalability and international relevance for sustainable development. Our vision is to contribute to the sustainable development of the country, serve from a platform that looks to implement and keep track of ideas with high impact potential in the field of innovation and social entrepreneurship in Costa Rica. In 2013 from the growth of the TEDxPuraVidaJoven events, where over 20,000 people come together in Costa Rica with exceptional ideas to share and change our world, the organizing team identified an opportunity to formally encourage these ideas and transform them into real initiatives. Our greatest objective is to contribute to the sustainable development in Costa Rica and the region, and that we achieve it by working together with our community to identify good ideas and convert them into actions, hence our motto: "Collaborative innovation".

1.- To support each community in the effort to create and develop its community museum, to strengthen our awareness of our past, its impact on the present, and the possibilities for building a future based on the values of our ancestors. 2.- To unify our communities, sharing our concerns and supporting each other by developing networks at a state, national and international level. 3.- To strengthen community action in education, training, and the recreation of collective memory and practices, through projects that benefit all participating communities.

To promote agroecological principles and rural entrepreneurship through capacity development and South-South exchange of quality farmer-to-farmer training videos in local languages.

We are a non-profit organization that works to transform the lives of people at risk and social vulnerability, through specialized programs that improve their quality of life.

1. To act as a leading organisation and a global voice for the rights of those who face discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and/or sex characteristics (SOGIESC). 2. To work towards achieving equality, freedom and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people through advocacy, collaborative actions, and by educating and informing relevant international and regional institutions as well as governments, media and civil society. 3. To empower our members and other human rights organisations in promoting and protecting human rights, irrespective of people's sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and/or sex characteristics and to facilitate cooperation and solidarity among ILGA regions and members. 4. To promote the diversity and strengths of persons of diverse SOGIESC around the world.

The mission of Soy Nina is (1) to empower girls who live in conditions of vulnerability, offering a safe space to get to know themselves and meet with their peers so that through their own experiences, meaningful learning, playful activities and the collective construction of knowledge, they can develop and strengthen their socio-emotional skills that allow them to take care of themselves, stay in school and make informed decisions regarding their own lives and (2) to create awareness on the unique challenges that all girls under 18 face in Costa Rica and globally. After almost three and a half years since their beginning, they have worked mostly with girls aged 6-12 years in three vulnerable communities in Desamparados, San Jose, Costa Rica. Their program is on-going and the great majority of girls have stayed in the program throughout the years. Soy Nina's main program is "Club Nina" (Girls Club), a free-of-charge after-school program with affinity to the public education system's calendar, based on life-skills development, human rights, early comprehensive sexual education, all with age-appropriate information and activities.

Created in 2002, Vision du Monde is a French humanitarian organization, belonging to World Vision international partnership, which aims at helping the most vulnerable children. Thanks to its Christian DNA and driven by stewardship and human centred values, our NGO is dedicated to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice. We help the most vulnerable children to experience fullness of life, by growing, learning and achieving their dreams in a caring and secured environment. Vision du Monde works with the world's most vulnerable people in the most remote or unstable areas of the world. It serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. Our staff of 25+ deals mainly with global relief, development and advocacy. We pursue this mission through integrated, holistic commitment, working closely with children, families, communities, local authorities. We make sure that each one of them are interviewed and committed from design to fulfilment in our development programmes. Empowered step by step during the ten to fifteen years of a programme, we empower them to set their own goals, settle autonomy and pass on skills and knowledge in a sustainable and community-based outlook. Vision du Monde runs 17 development programmes in 12 countries across 4 continents. It benefits from the 70 years of experience of World Vision, first child sponsorship NGO and first Clean water humanitarian provider in the world, operating in 99 countries with offices in 85 of them. Our mission encompasses, in a global and sustainable development approach, 6 key sectors across clean water, sanitation and hygiene; food security; health; education; child protection and economic development to enable families transform relationships, build resilience and secure source of revenues. World Vision recently launched a new global strategy called Our Promise 2030, contributing to reach Sustainable Development Goals. Focusing energy and resources on increasingly fragile contexts and hard-to-reach areas, the organization strengthens his advocacy against violence, exploitation and human rights violations. Vision du Monde is dedicated more than ever to reach the most vulnerable children in the world, in difficult areas, relying on the expertise and cultural understanding of local teams, 97 % of them originating from the country. Alliances with other NGOs such as Red cross, Cares, Coordination sud or public organization such as EU or World food programme or International Labour Organization, make our action more efficient.
