The primary mission of the Home is to enhance the retirement life of Virginia Masons and their families by providing a quality Life Plan Community or necessary in-home assistance and care through the Outreach Program.The Masonic Home embodies the Masonic principle of care for others. Masons obligate themselves to constantly care for others. For that purpose, members of the Masonic Fraternity founded this community of care in 1890 and continue to support it through their financial gifts and with their volunteer efforts.We operate a continuing care retirement community of 170-220 residents and support an in-home care program throughout Virginia.

The staff develops and seeks to improve the physical, social and emotional lives of those living with a severe disabling condition, helping them to live active, meaningful lives.

In Golden, Colorado, we carry out this mission by supporting community causes and organizations. We also organize our own initiatives, including a school supply drive for Golden elementary and middle schools; forensics club support and an oratorical contest for Golden high school students. Our largest program is our community bicycle shop and Bicycle Recycle Program.
