CARITAS AUSTRIA is an internationally operating non-profit organisation (donations are tax-deductible Reg. Nr. SO1126; equivalent 501(c)(3) US organization) under the mission of the Austrian Catholic church and pursues solely and directly charitable and benevolent objectives. CARITAS AUSTRIA relief work addresses the needy in their entirety, taking also into consideration their physical, psychological and spiritual-religious backgrounds. CARITAS AUSTRIA commits itself to providing assistance to people in need which is done without regard to creed, ethnicity or ideology of those seeking help. In its operations CARITAS AUSTRIA is guided by respect for the dignity and self-determination of the people it serves. There are more than 1,000 places throughout Austria where CARITAS AUSTRIA helps people in need. In the areas of caregiving, supporting people with disabilities, hospices, in the social counseling centers, on assignment for families in need or for older people who cannot afford heating. CARITAS AUSTRIA - this comprises its fulltime staff, but above all, also the roughly 50.000 volunteers and each and every one of you who supports our work. CARITAS AUSTRIA's main activities are aiming at social support and advocacy for those in need. These activities are taking place in Austria and abroad, whereas the main focus is lying on national work in Austria. We seek to promote the inclusion of local voices in justice mechanisms and work to empower women and local actors to be engaged in domestic, regional and international peace and justice mechanisms. We advocate for a gender just world through high quality legal research and analysis to help move the field of gender jurisprudence forward. Through amicus curie briefs, our Gender Report Card, articles and blog posts, we raise issues related to gender justice and encourage courts and other justice mechanisms to apply a gender perspective to their work. We help to identify gaps in transitional justice mechanisms, provide mapping, and critical legal and gender analysis to identify barriers to justice. We work with local domestic actors to provide technical assistance, capacity-strengthening, and strategic interventions using a victim-centered approach.

Pallottine Missionary Foundation Salvatti.pl (Pallotynska Fundacja Misyjna Salvatti.pl) is an NGO, based in Poland. We support social work of missionaries: kindergartens, schools, health centres, hospitals, nutritional centres, we also fund scholarships for Africans, who study in their own countries. We also organize a course for missionary volunteers, who go to the countries of Global South to help and share their experience. We help in Africa: Rwanda, D.R. Congo, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zanzibar; Asia: India, Syria, Lebanon, Sri Lanca; South America: Colombia, Cuba, Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina. The Foundation was founded in 2008. We have a long story of support different projects like building maternity in Kigali, building schools in Bivouvue, Esse in Cameroon, supporting kindergartens in Rwanda and D.R. Congo, building schools in Brobo and Ahouaukro in Ivory Coast. We organize debates on hot international social topics with famous experts like Carl Wilkens for the USA, the only American who stayed in Rwanda during the genocide, Nagy el-Khouri from Lebanon, Juan Grabois from Papal Counsel Justicia et Pax and many more. We cooperate with business to help to develop entrepreneurship among Africans. What we take care most is the education of children as we know that is an effective way to help children. In the process of helping the faith doesn't matter - we help all the people in need, regardless their faith. In Africa and India we help in education of children of all faiths. We do not ask for it. Some years ago we helped muslim village in Bosnia which suffered during the big flood. So we don't divide people according to their faith.

To raise awareness of our responsibility to the next generation through our programs, and respect and practice a simple life style considering a sustainable environment for the future generation in order to achieve our common goal, world peace.

Coopera's MISSION is to carry out projects that improve the quality of life of our beneficiaries and contribute to reducing poverty and injustice in the world. We are committed to Education as the engine of progress. Access to education at any of its levels, education and professional training are the objective of our projects and are always present in them, whether they are educational or from other areas. We work in Development Cooperation Projects in African and South American countries in areas of education, training and professional training; in agricultural, environmental and food sovereignty projects. We work with communities and mainly with women. In Spain and Europe we mainly work on social awareness through Education for Development projects. For this we have our own Development Education Strategy. A third pillar of our activity is the Social Projects with which we try to promote people, especially women in long-term unemployment, from our immediate environment. We also work in health protection programs for children in Africa

The main objective of the ASOCIACIÓN MENSAJEROS DE LA PAZ is the care, attention, support, rehabilitation, treatment for human and social promotion of the most disadvantaged and needy groups in Spain and in several countries all over the world in order to promote their full integration: minors, young people living under social risk conditions, abused women, physical and psychical handicapped people, drug addicts, and old people who live alone, in abandon or poverty conditions.

The goal is to support communities by training them on small projects in the processing, production, and conservation of food products. Strategies Food for All Program Based on local realities, we identify communities of different strata of our populations in the grip of hunger, living in rural areas and some in urban areas and help them to take charge of themselves by efficiently exploiting natural resources at their disposal. With our partners who are experts in the field, we provide basic training, provide production tools such as watering cans, seeds, etc. Beneficiaries commit to perpetuate this culture in their families and commit to contributing with resources such as land for gardening, time, and availability to learn and share knowledge on agricultural techniques they receive from our program. PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT Emergency Responses NGO Partnerships Emergency Responses Becoming inevitable, natural disasters are more and more frequent in our communities, creating enormous damage. Our mission is that whenever one occurs within our reach, that we provide assistance and relief to the victims. It has been reported that on average, humanitarian crises are more complex than at any time in the last 15 years, and last nearly three years longer than they used to. Conflict, migration, climate change and now the unexpected pandemic (COVID-19) are the key trends driving these crises. Critical Emergency Responses to Address: - Providing the basics (Soap, Sanitizers, masks etc.) - Reinforce Sanitation to minimize infection As they arise in our area of activities, Emergency responses will be posted and best approaches shared on our website and social media pages Strategies In partnership with local institutions, we identify and quantify needs to find a more effective approach to addressing the emergency. We mobilize volunteers, collect donations in kind and in cash depending on the type of disaster and work closely with the competent structures to relieve the affected communities. Start Network's vision is for a locally led humanitarian system that is accountable to people affected by and at risk of crises. We aim to achieve this vision by making system-level shifts in the way humanitarian support is approached and delivered, by: -shifting power and decentralising decision-making to locally led networks and organisations; -creating a global humanitarian financing system that is increasingly focused on reducing risk, anticipating and acting ahead of predictable crises, as well as focusing on under the radar crises; -supporting communities to develop innovative solutions to humanitarian problems. The Start Network is both an independent registered charity and an international humanitarian network with more than 80 members worldwide. The membership includes international non-governmental organisations, and national and local NGOs. In addition, we are deepening the impact of the network and expanding our membership, by enabling the set-up of local humanitarian networks or hubs. These have been established in 5 countries, and we are working with prospective members in a further 6 countries.

The Congo Vision Central Africa Organization (COVIAC asbl) in the DRCongo's mission is to ensure community integration and the participation of youth and women for resilience to shocks of various kinds in order to fight poverty and change. climate change and guarantee peace, stabilization and improve access to basic social services including food and nutritional security

Humans in the Loop is a hybrid between a non-profit foundation and a for-profit social enterprise which has been working for the past 6 years towards the inclusion of refugees and conflict-affected people in the AI supply chain, as well as in the digital work field, through upskilling and paid remote work opportunities. Our shared mission is to provide a diverse group of conflict-affected and displaced people with access to career development support, upskilling, and remote work opportunities to train and monitor AI systems. We are active across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, and our work related opportunities are primarily focused on communities affected by armed conflict and are distributed with priority to countries where other remote online job opportunities are unavailable as for example Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon. In our additional partner countries Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Moldova, and the DRC, with upcoming pilots in Kenya and Uganda, we concentrate on upskilling opportunities, equipping people with freelance related skills and then further supporting them in applying for remote work on platforms such as UpWork through our Mictrofreelancing self-paced course. Our foundation has its own training platform where we conduct trainings in English, Digital Skills, as well as data annotation skills and remote work, and everything is available online. We have developed our own proprietary modules on topics such as bias in AI and ethical AI, Cybersecurity when working online, and data annotation techniques, as well as professional courses which are either instructor-led or self-paced on topics such as Digital Marketing, Intro to Programming, Intro to Graphic Design, or Intro to Business Analytics. To date, more than 500 individuals have completed courses on our platform. Now, we want to develop our course offerings further by developing new courses on generative AI skills and real-time monitoring of AI systems, performing red team testing on AI systems, and providing feedback for reinforcement learning. Many of our trainees are already working for our social enterprise as data annotators, working on projects related to image labelling, data collection, and real-time monitoring and edge case handling of AI systems. To date, we have provided paid remote employment to more than 1,100 people. Our goal is to ensure that they progress further in their careers in the AI field and to provide them with opportunities to access further employment on freelancing platforms, or with other employers. We have partnered before with Upwork's "Opportunity Unlimited" program in order to introduce them to online freelancing, and we also have a small-scale career counselling program. Now, our goal is to expand these career development programs in order to help our graduates join the workforce of the future and contribute to making AI systems more inclusive and mitigate harmful biases.
