Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization established in 1983. We raise money to support Saskatoon City Hospital in its care of patients. Over the years, the generosity of friends has helped us raise over $36 million. Funds were used to equip the new, state-of-the-art Saskatoon City Hospital, which opened in 1993. And they continue to be used to support Saskatoon City Hospital in its role as a provincial leader in eye care, gynecology, rehabilitation and general surgery and the home of the Irene and Leslie Dubé Centre of Care, Saskatchewan's first Breast Health Centre. Shalem Court: Exterior Restoration Project Over the last number of months, you no doubt have observed, heard, or, been part of the conversation pertaining to the repairs required to the exterior of the “Court” building due to moisture that seeped in behind the stucco and walls. The repairs started in late June. We expect the Project to take 5 - 6 months to complete however, because of “hidden damage” to the exterior walls behind the stucco, we will not know the final costs until after the completion of the repairs. At this time we estimate the total cost to come in at approximately $1,500,000, or $30,000 per suite. Your Shalem Board is now faced with the task in determining how to best finance the Project. Our Members and Residents are the central core to the Society. Families and government also benefit from a place that offers housing and community to 160 of its' Citizens.

Why Research? Why Give? Since the discovery of the human genome, cancer research has taken major strides forward. In the last twenty years, researchers have accumulated an impressive amount of data that are helping us to understand better the processes leading to cancer, as well as the means of preventing, controlling, and curing it. Cancer is a complex disease that shows up in more than 200 various forms. The scale of the task is monumental and the needs in research are enormous. Our understanding of the disease at a genetic and molecular level will allow us to save innumerable lives. Your donations help Canadian researchers, doctors and scientists advance in the fight against cancer. Together, we can support them and fund innovative projects that will make a difference in the discovery of new treatments and of a cure for this terrible disease. Help our researchers find a cure !
